I let it sit with the open end pointing in on one of my exhaust fans on my computer over night. I just plugged it in here at work and it is working. Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm copying all the data as we speak just to be on the safe side.

you can glue the plastic back together, it really shouldn't be a problem.
It's one of these: So it's not just a case it has working parts, so it could be a problem. Might not but could be.

[site was down for awhile....]
I will take a look at it when I get home tonight. I can't find anything online about taking one of these apart. I don't want to break it open and not be able to get it back together. I know it might be broke already or break if I don't open it and clean it, but i guess i'll take that chance.

This morning I woke up to find my 4 GB ScanDisk Cruzer Micro in the bottom of the washing machine. I have it drying out on top of my computer at the moment. I searched google and found a lot of stories of people washing their thumb drives and they still worked after drying out. Anyone here have this happen to them? What was the outcome? I'm going to let it dry over night before plugging it in.

You could add the password but you really shouldn't. Instead the recommended way of doing it is to use key files.
I had a script to send files from one computer to another everynight (backup of security camera images). Setting up ssh with keys was the easiest way I found, plus it's more secure.

Where I work we can only use vi. It's a government system and is locked down pretty tight..

i wanna get perpendicular... I'm gonna have that stuck in my head all day.

No one mentioned the Dodge Viper or whatever that car was in the begining! I wonder if they borrowed it or Kevin actually has one. They do have a million dollar backing now don't they.
I thought it was pretty good. You have to give theBroken some credit, even if they didn't start the IPTV revolution they did make it popular and introduce most of us to it.

What about that Geocaching segment? Is that going to ever air? I know i've bugged you about this in the past, but it did make the teaser in ep 7 for ep 8 but never came out. If you already have it made why not release it?
Just venting....

I've looked into getting a Lenovo but I read http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/wireStory?id=2505547 that they just had one catch on fire. Oh well I guess it looks like every laptop is capable of having a crappy battery.

I'm in the market for a new notebook. Just wondering if anyone has got one recently, and if anyone knows of any deals.
I don't want a Dell, not getting a mac this time, and don't want mine to catch fire anytime soon.
I want something around $1500.00 that will last longer than 4 months. I hate how you find one for cheep, but once you add everything you want it still costs 2500+.
I can't get a discount at work, and Dell is the only one that has small business discount but again don't want a dell. So any help or insight is appreciated.

Ah I get sick and don't get on the forums for a couple of days and I miss out on this. Boo viruses and there ability to kill my IPTV career.
I guess I don't have a good Russian accent anyway.

my gmail has gotten worse lately, maybe around 30-40 a month. But at work I get atleast 10-15 a day.

I guess I'm the opposite of everyone here. I love sleep. I sleep 6-8 hours a night and still have room for a nap or two during the day.
I finished college with a part time job and worked out 4 days a week and still managed to sleep between 8 to 10 hours a day.

mmm PSU could be the problem. Try replacing it with one of your other working PSU's before you buy a new one. Because this could also be a RAM problem. Check if the RAM sticks are the same. ie. same make or the same speed.
This computer has worked for about a year now. So it's not a RAM problem, unless one of them has gone bad. I found a cheap PSU on newegg, under $30 shipped isn't bad, plus it had decent reviews.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16817255010
I know what some of you have said about cheap PSUs but this is a spare box that I just play around on. Also I'm not taking the PSU out of my main box just to test whether it was the power supply or not.
-
I love newegg. Always the best (reputable) prices I can find.
Also make sure it's not overheating if it runs for a bit and then dies... sounds more like heat than a dodgy power supply (though it could be the PSU overheating)
After doing some checking, the fan for the power supply seems to have quit. Thats why it shuts off. So it is overheating, but because of the dodgy power supply.
Also might I suggest, if you don't buy a cheap PSU then perhaps it won't blow up (at least quickly). This was a computer given to me. The person said it was too slow and sucked. But after getting rid of all the viruses and spyware on the system it turned out to be a pretty decent pc.

I don't really use it anymore but I have used FireANT in the past.
what are you using now?
I quit watching a lot of the shows I used too. Not alot of free time lately. I just download them directly from the site now.

My power supply just died on my linux server. :(
Well I think it's the power supply. I will start it and it will boot up for awhile, then shutoff. Then every power up after that last a little bit less and then nothing at all. Also I smell a little burning from the back. I haven't touched this box in a couple of weeks, then want to mess with it and now this.
Where does everyone get cheap products online? I've used newegg, and pricewatch before.

I know if I ever had a music video the first thing I would do is jump on a paddle boat.

I use trillian. It works for me.

b4rr13 that is a pretty sweet design. But I still like the current theme of the website.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it....
Maybe if you added more blue like the current theme i would change my mind. I like blue a little too much, it's an illness.

I would like a Hak5 sticker or two. I need some to cover a couple of dings in my snowboard from last season...
