  2. There's this thing. Not as 1337 as everything u'll hear from this guys here but it does the job. And it works via IE. On the host computer (probably the 1 at your house): 1.U install IIS(internet information services)->world wide web service->remote desktop web connection and world wide web service on windows (in add/remove windows components). 2.go to control panel->administrative tools->Internet Information Services 3.point to computername->web sites->and right click and select properties on default web site 4.on the web site tab u see there is a place where it sais TCP port. There u need to write whatever port u want for example 6248 (between 1000 and 65535) and remember it so that u can access it later. After that click apply, ok and exit the whole IIS thing. 5.right clicking my computer and properties on the remote tab u should check "allow users to connect remotely to this computer. 6. U should have an account on the computer that has a password otherwice this will not work. I think that's just about it on the host computer Now on the school computer or any other that u want to use to connect home: 1. open IE 2. point to: http://your_ip_address:port_you_selected_i...services/tsweb/ Example if ur IP is 62.162.0.1 and u choose port 6248 it should look like this: http://62.162.0.1:6248/tsweb/ P.S. If you don't know your IP i usually go to http://www.whatismyip.org/ :) It does the job :P 3. In your IE windows u should see the remote desktop web connection and without changing anything just click connect 4. You should see your computers logon screen and here just write your username and password and that should be it. Ah 1 more thing... Try it first and if you have a problem with the firewall or something you should portforward TCP port 3389 which is requred by the web connection and whatever TCP port u selected in IIS. I'm sorry if I missed something. Just try it and if it doesn't work simply kill me (or post it here :P) Peace
  3. Ok I'm really sorry 2 hear that. Guess I have 2 move to silver hand now :( God I hate starting from 0 :D Anyway. I just started getting into wow and I can tell u 1 thing. YES it is addictive. And yes I do spend much time on it. BUT on the other hand, I DO have a girlfriend and all the "normal?" (i believe the word was) stuff that GROWNUPS :))) do :D So wow IS addictive, but only if u let it be. Hey darren if u ever decide to play again contat me --> I'll give u a free shiny red apple. Haven't seen u anywhere? What race r u? When will u be online? And can I as a druid learn to speak orcish? :D Thanks guys. Hope 2 "c" u soon.
  5. yeey :D i'm "bean" gr8 :P OMG I can't believe this.... I'm typing my ass off and I make 1 mistake and suddenly the whole world crushes down on me :D Let me c u talk Macedonian if u r so smart then :D
  6. Nicely put. I know that :D If you check my earlier post I said modem/router so I ment just to get it working and not to check "if my modem is a modem" :D Ah what else I DON'T live in England and since i've given up of this whole thing I'll just say 1 thing: I NEEDED SOME1 THAT USES AUDITOR TO TELL ME WHERE THE HECK I SHOULD GO 2 SET UP THE INTERNET. AND NOT SOME1 TO TEACH ME ABOUT MODEMS AND ROUTERS :D Thanks anyway, you've all bean gr8! :P
  7. K sorry about that. The sutiation is like this. I have a D-Link DSL-360T modem. I'm connected to the internet on my Win XP box and everything works fine. I can share the connection over my home network so my other Win XP box gets a piece of it. The problem starts here. I boot of my auditor cd. WHERE is the "network connection" setup on this OS? Is the setup made via the command line? Or HOW is it made? My problem isn't that the connection on auditor doesn't work. It's that I just don't know how and where I should go to setup the connection. As before I use a DSL that REQUIRES a user name and password. And my network card doesn't need any IP setup to have the connection up and running. I mean, I just set it up to auto and he assigns an IP and it works. Default gateway, no DNS -> you know everything default :) So I don't think that the IP is the key here. If you have set up an connection to the internet on auditor (bootable cd) that where should I go to find the internet settings? I hope I was clear enough and haven't bugged you a lot :D Thanks anyway.
  8. 2 be perfectly honest that wasn't very helpful :) I already read a dozen howto's and still can't set up that internet. I think that my auditor is cursed :D Anyway, could some1 send a step by step instructions? Please... And another thing. Could I set it up so that I use a network connection that's on the network and not the "direct router/modem" connection? Thanks...
  9. Ok it may be a n00b question but still... How the hell do I setup an internet connection on auditor? I have an ADSL that requires a username and password. Thanks... P.S. Bare in mind that I'm new 2 linux or any of its forms :D
