OK this isnt like my how to hack my school computers thread. This time I want to hack my OWN network and shutdown computers on it. I have tried pskill but nothing happens...yes I have run it but I tell it what to do and it says its doing it and then nothing happens. Can someone help? disclaimer: Im a n00b to hacking.

OK I use Fedora+Firefox and I want to get flashplayer to to work so that I can use Pandora on Linux. Can someone help? Ive downloaded the stuff from the adobe site and followed all instructions and the stuff it wants is in plugins yet it doesnt think I have flashplayer! Help Please :)

OMG I didnt know that you could get Mouse Gestures for firefox (well I never tried looking) I just got them... Firefox is now my browser of choice, it was Opera, but Firefox is open source, has flashplayer and now Mouse Gestures! Thanks!

Yea but my mate has never used Linux before and he will get put off if he doesnt get a GUI because he will be using it for web mostly. I just tried Backtrack the other day and it was awesome. Would that run on my mates rig, it would be installed of course, not live CD.

OK heres another "what distro?" question. My mate wants to start using Linux but doesnt know which distro to choose. He only has: 600mhz duron 192mb SD RAM A one CD version would be preferable. Must be easy to use as otherwise he will give up and give me Linux sucks sh*t. Any ideas? I was thinking Ubuntu as that seems to be the standard recomendation, but im not sure if it would run smoothly on his rig?

i know visual BASIC (well enough for NCEA to be happy and for me to get A+ for my project :) ) i tryed perl for a bit (i had one of those 24hour books and i did the first 2 hours) so im going to get back into it sometime...sunday maybe i know a little bit of HTML (so i can sort of understand what is written but not really write it, ive forgoten most of it. i might have to learn again some holiday) i want to learn C++ but again i need time which i will be able to get enough of in the summer holidays hopefuly when i finish greesing to my parents to get me a laptop!!

When I was a noob, I had to learn BASIC and Assembler to get the computer to do anything useful. Go away and read as much as you can. yea thats what im going to be doing this weekend. im starting on the 'Hacking: Where to begin' thread this weekend. thanks metatron :)

well if you push 'F5' or the play button in VB it will run your program. Don't be an asshole about it, if we really didn't want you to have that signature we could probably get a mod to change it. sorry if i was being a 'asshole' about it. but you guys were mocking my motto i didnt mean to sound so 'assholeish'

umm yea i do code stuff...even stuff im not ment to! sure im not a leet programmer yet but i have made some stuff such as...since at school we cant run .exe files (or .bat) i just made a little visual basic program to run the things i want it to :) but that was before i discovered that i could just change the name to something it allowed, such as iexplore.exe or mspaint.exe :D. also right now im making a client for pandora.

ok i found this: Anyone can build an antenna for Wifi. An ordinary Wok will make a reflector as will an umbrella with a metallic film or even a Pringles canister if you want to fiddle around. What you want is a directional antenna with minimal side spillage and therein lies the rub. Without giving too much away, the reflector should be parabolic in both axis with about 7 degree or less beam width and 20dB or more gain (similar to what we offer) You should be able to polarise the signal to minimise noise from other transmitters in your path. Orienting the antenna at 45 degrees also helps. VOIP across Lake Taupo in NZ using ordinary laptops and PCs ?over 30km ?has been easily achieved. Regarding intecepts; Consider VOIP on an open system like talking in a cafe. anyone can hear and listen in even if they don't intend to. If you shout across the cafe and people between you hear things that you don't want them to, either shut up, use a different language or put up with it. It's your problem, not theirs.

ok im new here. hak.5 rocks :) what i want to do is make a wireless thing to connect my and my mates networks up over 2-3km and make it so he can share my internet (coz im kind and he has a 1GB cap!) how would i do this and how much would it cost? please help
