Playlists only contain one entry for a certain song.
But the list as a whole is a file. Are the entries for songs played on a station appended to those in the already in the playlist for a station which has been previously ripped, or is the playlist replaced/overwritten/renamed/named differently?

Can create playlists for new music download as well as per-station playlists.
Are playlists overwritten when a station is played and ripped repeatedly? I will check this.

When ripping, shouldn't every log entry of "Got song :" be followed by a "Saving MP4 file" or a "File already exists" or a blacklist note if that comes then or some such? Or do these actions sometimes get separated by a slew of other actions that makes them quite remote from each other in the log?
On checking, it looks like the "file already exists" entry simply doesn't occur as often as the file actually exists, or maybe the file was saved but not noted as such. I dunno. Nothing.

Reboot Vista, then SP then FF Pandora maxi player. (on XP machine, all's well for now)
After the usual wait and wait...
"Critical error - Your browser has requested mp3 data from Pandora....PS is not equipped... Check that flash is 9 or greater....Otherwise try FF"
Then get fatal error with "Failed to read XML: A proxy or firewall may be interfering with SProxy..."
I'm running Flash 10 and FF for Pandora.

Been getting a lot of player stalls at start: "Its taking a long time to figure what to play, blah, blah," ragardlees of browser. Now Vista/FF/turbo. Changing stations ineffective.
....finally get some action. Log shows PS faster than Pandora player display, which is still stalled eventhough tunes have beeen ripped.

It's not a problem, per se... it's just that data comes in faster than your computer could ever hope to simultaneously re-encode it. Hence bad things will happen once the amount of songs to be processed passes the max to keep queued (really, i haven't the faintest what would happen - completely undefined). Eventually, perhaps, I will make a helper program or some such to help with re-encoding, but atm I don't see it happening. It's still going to be resource intensive, either way.
Got it. There is an limit one what one can expect... Why should you be able to produce or integrate an encoder of magical capabilities, which apparently is what I'm hoping for?
Any recs for one which works well across directories?

ZZj - I'm sure you have plenty of bugs in your bonnet, but.... will you be please revisiting the conversion / mp3 encoding? Playing mp4s on the 'puter is good, fine and dandy and if mp4 is the native file format of Pandora then perhaps it is one end of that fine story (for the time being). Converting post PS I've found to be time and resource intensive (via Wiki linked ConvertMP4toMP3.com - which seemed to otherwise do a good job: file sizes were about the same) and I was hoping you could get the hiccups / problems with encoding in PS in turbo mode worked out.

Try launching SProxy first, then opening IE.
Yes, this works, but FF or the mini in IE work much more smoothly, or so it seems.

what exactly happens when you try to use the big tuner? any specific messages, or..?
Music plays, though PS is set to turbo rip. Logs mute. Will retry shortly to see exact log activity.

Yeah, I changed that in the fix for the url with cmd=tuner in it.

So since the reload feature doesn't work with the mini player (for my vista; and the maxi doesn't work with turbo, or rip any way) I'm getting timed out, can you allow reloads of panora with the mini player?

Yeah, because it is also trying to organize it, too, so it included the long name twice. I'd recommend dropping %album%\ from the organization format ("Folder structure"); not much point in putting it in a folder named for the album when the album is also in the name of the file.
True, but it won't be in that folder for long. I'd like the file to be folder independent, as it were.

That should not slow things down one bit, should it? My perception is that I'm getting fewer saves, but that must be due to other factors, the most common being that the file already exists.

I'm not quite sure what you are saying (outside of something is not working). Are you seeing pandora requests in SProxy's window? (stuff like CONNECT www.pandora.com, GET http://audio-*.pandora.com/, and so on)
Not as I recall, none of that in maxi, only in mini.

It truncates the length of the song name (because of filesystem stuff), but it compares against the full length names (thus they do not match). and thusly thinks they do not exist and tries to rip again. Hotfix: Enable strict duplicate checking under advanced settings.
So I helped make my problem by adding the album name to the file name, thus making it problematically long?

How many temp.dat files were there, exactly?
44 over the course of 6-7 minutes, this time on the XP machine.

So when Sproxy fails during an unattended turbo session, it may leave behind a considerable number of unnamed mp4s in the form of temp.dat files. This seems odd since it seems to take care of naming them more or less in line.

No news likely. The first hiccup like this:

* Is the browser's proxy configuration correct? Check the settings and try again.
* Does the proxy service allow connections from this network?
* Still having trouble? Consult your network administrator or Internet provider for assistance.
