    Networking Hardware For A Lan Party

    I've been a host for a local lan party going on for about 6 years now, we've finally just upgraded to Gig networking equipment just because it's so cheap. I would NOT use that router though, your going to go through about 3 or 4 of them, I can promise you on that. We've had some many different off the shelf routers, and they all get fried because all the traffic going through them. You should probably build/invest in a heavy-duty router or build one yourself with pfSense, monowall, ipcop, smoothwall, etc, etc.

    You could do WiFi at the lan party, we have it open for people to connect their phones, laptops, shit like that through, but you should probably tell the people that are gaming to use wired (everyone should know that by now anyways :rolleyes: )

    You can run a 16 or 24 port (depending on layout) to each table and just run one cable from the main switch or router to the other switches, no point in wasting all your cat5e/6 cable.

    Darren did a segment back then on Untangle and to be honest, I kinda liked it a lot, and seems to provide a lot more features than any other linux based firewalls.

    hell yea dude! i found so much pron when i was working as a service manager @ a local shop.

    we found a bunch of horse porn on this really hot black chic's computer and she was like "did you like watching it?" when she came and picked it up..i asked her why she was into that stuff and she said black dudes aren't big enough for her

    I just got 2 netbooks with windows 7 starter and I can't change the wallpaper. Does any now how to change it. Thank for any help.

    did you try right clicking on the desktop and clicking on customize?

    if you do that then click the background logo on the left side on the bottom...rest should be ezzzzzzzzz

    i just bought a compaq laptop from this dude (i think its stolen) and the wifi card is bad...so i did some research and come to find out HP recalled this model number because the card shorts out the mini pci-e slot.

    now im on the phone with HP and the guy is telling me my warranty expired like 610 days ago. then i emailed him the link and he's checking to see what i need to do to send it in.

    lol.

    damn indians trying to screw me over.

    A customer of mine wants to setup an IVR where they can enter the credit card number and bill the bills over the phone so they don't have to talk to a real person :lol:

    this is what we use on our mysql server...(started using it AFTER we had to pay 5g to recover all the data)

    note..

    the backup mount (/backup) is a mounted NFS over the network to our freeNAS box. Hope that helps.
