RDP via Direct Internet

We have to use the Plesk Migrator tool because it resyncs after it transfers. Maybe the Datacenter where the old server is, is running a firewall or something.
Got I hate windows.
-
yeah that's the wierd thing i can ping and tracert it great..just can't connect to it through a share.
-
So he's a short jist of what is going on.
My company bought some Windows Hosting customers on Plesk. The server is in Los Angeles and we're in Kansas so we're trying to migrate to the new server via Plesk Migration Manager. Well nothing is working and we're on a deadline. I have contacted Parallels support but they're taking way too long. Basically the new server can't see the old server via Windows File Sharing \\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx\C$ even with the firewall off on both machines.
Does anyone have any idea why the new server won't see the old server? I'm tired of waiting on Parallels to get back with me.
Any help would be awesome.

I run RouterOS (Mikrotik router OS) runs great. Of course my router is a Core 2 Duo E7500 with 2gb of ram, lol. But you can run it on anything that is x86.
-
+1 for Mikrotik. We run that for over 100+ hotels in Kansas.
All you gotta do is run the Hotspot wizard, setup a user name and password and your set.

Anyone know where I can get a bootable CD that will do a Linux (Centos 5.4) P2V to an ESXi machine? I tried doing it while the OS was running, but it kept erroring out.
Any help would be awesome.
Thanks

It's PC2-5300. Not sure what AAO you have. Might check crucial.com.

Just have one switch per bench and then have them branching off to the core switch.
I wouldn't worry about setting up a VLan, not really that important on a Lan Game.
And the wireless you could connect it up to the core switch.
Thats what I would do anyway.
+1
I wouldn't mess with the Vlan, just extra shit you have to worry about.

Mikrotik/RouterOS ftw

I know this from experience, but no matter if Indians have a black or white color skins, and no matter if they do or don't speak English, they are very smart people no offence.
They are highly skilful from an engineering perspective and they know their shit. They can come from a third world country but they know how to make business.
The may speak funny when they talk, but I have my respects for them. And I myself used to offer onsite IT support for a private owned Indian company.
no,no,no my friend..you got it all wrong. these people aren't the engineer/doctor class, its the class of indians that clean the streets and take out the trash. all the hotels I deal with are the lowest of the low and the dumbest of the dumb.
for example one hotel the indians are straight off the boat (not being racist, my wife is asian :-D) and their kids were born here and the kids can't even speak english. these hotels are $20/night hooker hotels. nothing classy like the Marriott or Hyatt.
@White..i wish i could escalate my calls to someone higher, but i'm the only person that works there.

no idea..
screen and battery sold..still have the AC adapter and the rest.

this is what we're building at work for our san that is going to attach to our esxi/xen clusters.
-
If you guys think that's bad...I do tech support for one of the companies we own. We do VOiP, WiFi and Internet for 75-80 hotels in Kansas. Every single hotel is owned by an indians (from india). So I do tech support for Indians and i'm white. None of them can speak english and the ones who can, do know the difference between a modem and a power adapter.
I could go on and on about it. I'll try and record some calls, lol.

the phenom, cause i'm an AMD fanboy :-D

Just install Ubuntu 10.10.
Problem solved.

Sure. VMWare ESXi will run Windows Server with no problems. I have about 6-7 at work that are setup with ESXi and 10 that are setup with Xen. You just have to make sure your cpu supports virtualization and is a 64-bit to run the Windows Server on it.
pretty much my Xen box is
Centos 5.5 w/Cloudmin (easy for managing the VMs) and then Cloudmin installs Xen and run from the xen kernel. Pretty easy one you get the hang of it.
ESXi is probably your easiest bet though.
gl hf and don't get frustrated if it doesn't work the first or second..or tenth time :-D

100% sure its your bandwidth.
I work at a web host/data center so hit me up if your interested in some hosting. We have DS3 40mb up/down and are soon upgrading to GigE.
-
Well I think they're pretty useful.
I have a micro atx setup with 1 10/100 card for wan and 2 of these for my LAN. That way I didn't have to run another switch to plug more shit in.

haha hardly. $100 bucks a month for my internet. It cost too much for cable TV so now I just watch Rev3.
