on another note Truecrypt has that. Use one password you get one thing, a different password you get something else...
I was going to set up my computer with grub having 2,3,4 maybe 5 entrys with linux and when you boot into the first on the grub menu and looks like it's loading and it's running a "nice dd if=/dev/null of=/dev/hda1" and then boots to a OS with nothing you shouldn't have and if they/you try to boot to the next partition after that... well... lets hope you have backups..
but then I remembered that i tend to walk away after I turn my computer on so this would be a bad idea for me

Ok well it looks like my family and I will be building a new house.. what does that mean to me you're thinking... Well I'm glad you asked
Being the Live in tech support for my family that I am I'm going to have a first hand role in the design and building of said house.... So other then my own server room what do I need to add... we have not even started the design portion yet so nothing is to big or too small....
I'm thinking of having all the computers in the house build into one room and run cabling through the walls so you would only have to plug the monitors keyboards mouse and speakers into the wall
he he he I'm like a kid in a candy shop waiting for what you guys come up with

I soon will be aquireing 2 old computer that will just be burning a hole on my desk, so if ANYONE needs an old P3 about 1ghz 256 ram computer to mess around with I'll be happy to load you choice of OS and set it up for you...

What's wrong with your tablet PC speakers? And you could always try updating you Audio software and installing the right drivers.
You can also just buy some new speakers. You can get some good speakers for around $50.

I don't get it?Jedi Speak is a tool, you tool...but in other news I disconnected the Computer from the internet and tryed again.. and it worked only making me think more that it was trying to connect to my tablet via the interweb.
so now my question is... is there a way to (in XP) choose how the packets travel. i.e. can I tell windows to use the Wireless connection instead of the wired connection for somethings?

At work I have one computer connected to the internet and a unused wireless card so when I bring in my tablet and connect via an ad hoc network so I can use the internet from my tablet

ok I've been playing around with the Jedi Speak from http://www.appaday.com and I can connect to the computer from my tablet it works but I can not connect from my computer to my tablet and I get "Error: The remote name could not be resolved: 'TabletCompName' " I've also tried the ip address
I think it's because windows it trying to connect to the tablet from the internet connection not the wifi ad hoc
If I left anything out let me know any help would be helpful thank you.

I recieved my Athlon XP 2600+ on Friday, and got around to installing it last night.
The normal FSB - 166MHz
Overclocked - 195MHz
It's running at 2.25GHz
Mobo - Asrock K7S41GX
CPU - Athlon XP 2600+
HSF - Zalman 7000B-AlCu
The idle temps right now are 37-39C (98F - 102F)
I don't have any load temps yet.
What do you think about these temps.
Their a little hot for my liking, but I need someone else's thoughts.
I think I might save for some liquid cooling.
My thoughts? i have no clue..

I haven't started yet but my plan for the MoBo is to run a tube for plexi-box from one side to the other and drop a fan on one side to keep air flowing.... i'm also planning testing heat all the time..

I'm in talks with my fish friend and according to him bigger would be better because more water takes longer to heat and more glass space should keep it cooler as far as heat goes...
He also sugested I waterproof a webcam drop that in and host a webserver from said tank and do a live feed from inside the tank.. I'm loving that idea..
Also I am going to leave the power supply out of the tank so i don't have to worry about it's heat or fan...

If it works without the fan why could you jump the connector at all?
I see it as more likely you fucked something else up...

A few days ago I tried to jumper the CPU fan cable on a old Dell mobo. I put it in a new case and no longer could use the stock fan nor did I need it. It shorted and fried the board rendering it useless.
So I heard somewhere a while ago that fans connected directly to the motherboard have no negative end, they just connect to the ground. Is this true?
If the above statement is true does Dell wire their boards differently to have the negative lead back on the board?
ok first this can't be true because it need to be a complete circuit for anything using power to work

I have no idea of you care or not, but http://www.usbhacks.com seems to have stolen all of the work the Hak.5 community had done on the Switchblade and Hacksaw with only one link to the wiki and no credit to the makers.
