More Linux!

I'll be the first to admin I know next to nothing about linux I'm the guy who dosen't know how to mount a drive but I do know man mount will tell me and that fstab has somthing to do with mounting (I think it's what mounts on bootup... that or tell the computer how to mount)and i also know 'i' changes vim into insert mode alowing you to edit. but i'd like to learn and a good way would be doing a segment on somthing linux like Astrisk... that would be good way to get someone learning linux........... OH WAIT.. Y'all did that already

Ok I got this idea from another one of the threads I'm going to sink a full computer in a fishtank.... but saying I no idea what I'm doing would be an understatement....
Here's what I know so far
the tank size will need to be about 20 gallons or larger to fit the computer parts and fish and wires
I think my best bet would be to have each part to the computer in it's own custom size plexiglass case with a entry/exit port to run wires to and from. My friend sugested shrink tubeing, to run the wires with out them getting wet...
my BIGGEST worry is the power suply if I want to sink that too or just run the power in from outside the tank if I do it from outside the power wires will need to be LONG
Thing that I know also need consideration:
Heat in a small plastic box it's not good for the mobo or anything else...
Too much heat will kill the fish
I might also need If it starts to leak and water gets into the MoBo/HD/CD-ROM/!!POWER SUPLY!! something to kill the power so as to a) not kill the fish and b)hopefuly save the others devices
Anything I'm forgetting or need to know?

I think it's just the drive.. becasue the drive that "works" ie can change into a HD well I have like 3 of them and if I Right click > format NTFS was always an option and it turned it into a HD when I did format one into NTFS...
I would say open a U3 and try and copy over the full Hex of the drive and see if that would turn the new Drive into a U3 drive (I would guess it would need to be the same size) and see if that turns it into a U3 drive if not it might be a hardware 'mod' that makes it a U3

when i have someone I want to get into IRC for a moment I use http://www.chat-solutions.org/chat/ and from there you can configure it to use any server/channel you want... you might be able to use this client becasue I've seen it on quite a few websites

Ok I don't think it's working on my 2GB Memorex Travel drive or my Lexar drive... but you never know I could just be noobing out...
format as fat or fat32 or NTFS

GRRRR I'd love to test this out on my drive but HxD can only readonly the drive and I can't figure out how to change the first byte... any help would be really nice

I don't think there will ever be DRM built into computer hardware and there will always be a way to get around it....
If I'm wrong and we have it already or it's about to come out... I see linux getting really popular

You open the pc up and d/c the IDE hdd cable and FDD and wala, it skips the boot from the hdd and boots off the CD/DVD.
....nice i'd never though of that I had a computer with a locked BIOS and the battery was like welded inside the case and there was no listed BIOS reset jumper that would have saved me the hassel of driveing back to my house to pickup a spare HD

One part (of nearly thousands) of the american government that pisses me off is the fact that we are not required by law to vote in any elections.
DUDE THIS IS SUCH A GOOD IDEA everyone need to be required by law to vote even the people who don't care I love this idea.. But thats just becasue I'm going to change my name to "Avery AAAverson" the next prez.... </scarcasm> what do you think would happen of people where required by law to vote... these are the people who could care less about anything.. there for if you have the best commershal you win... hell you could lie as much as you want.. just look at the one Sparda posted about Net Neutrality being a bod thing.... now if everyone who didn't care to learn about it would think is was a bad thing and vote agenst it.....
Forceing people to vote is the worst idea ever(ok maybe not ever but...)
untill it's changed to the way California (yay california(home state) you got one right) where whoever wins the popular vote gets our Electoral votes..

Think about it.. a switchblade can be hidden very well and that was the idea of it never let them know they got owned.. but now with the haksaw it's a bit more brutal....
think of it this way...
with a switchblade you have to stab them more then a few times to kill them...
but with a haksaw you can just cut there head off... thats a lot easyer way to kill someone ;)

Perhaps it's time for another Civil movment, or perhaps another contry with strong millatary power (The UK?) to invade America to save the Americans from the American Goverment (Just like the Americans invaded Iraq to save the Iraqie people from the Iraqie Goverment). This legislation clearly violates the genvneva convention.

I would love to see a segment on IPTV, the makeing of. Like how much better it is to shoot live to tape... why it's better how to use Vegas to edit the video and make cool things like the hak5 title bar for URLs and names, and how to make the graphics for the segways and such
oh any by the way I LOVE the new orange segway in 2x03
