  1. On the way back from a backpacking trip in NM they confiscated 4-5 that had Gatorade in them (checked), but left our lighters/knifes.
When I went to croatia, I could go through security with my leatherman, but not a screwdriver...
    :/

    That says it all really...

    ---------------------

    Here's my very basics.

    3006206134_efc690dcf3.jpg

    Ubuntu bag contents:

    EEE PC 901

    USB sticks (USB Pocket-Knife + BT3 + Ubuntu eee)

    160gb Portable HDD

    PSP

    DS

    Scanner ;)

Snowcrash - every tube ride needs a good boook

    Fon

    Console hacking kit

    Leatherman Wave

Plus camera (obviously couldn't include in photo), all relevant chargers, and a flat ethernet cable and a USB cable.

  2. Yup, Jinx. Got me a Diggnation & Hak5 shirt, and a TRS hoody. Plus a few stickers.

Been wanting to order from them for agggges, but they only accept PayPal outside of the US, no cards. And I'm very anti-paypoo. Finally bit my pride and/or morals and just ordered the stuff lol.

  3. Fixed my RRoD with rubber pads and heater, as per standard. Worked a charm.

But what I'm hearing is MS put a bigger heatsink on when you send it to them, and now that the warranty is 3 years, there's no reason not to. Unless like many of us, you've already voided your warranty by opening the box for 'whatever reason' ;)

  4. I have tftpd running using your method, also had it working using aftpd. I've tested it - tis fine.

I still cannot get to redboot on my damn Fon+. I've changed eth0 IP to 192.168.1.254. I've tried pinging 192.168.1.1 and it doesn't get a ping even once during the FON's startup.

I've tried on my desktop and my laptop. I'm begining to think there's something wrong with the FON. Can't all be down to my stupidity, as there's nothing really to do on the user-end.

I'd give up and just wait for my Fon-, but I don't like giving up on something that should be so simple o_0

  5. Had a go at unlocking using this method.

Got as far as arping. Was getting no response. Edited the script to check 192.168.10.1 instead of 1.1, and altered my IP appropriately.

    This was my response:

    /srv/tftp# ./catch_fonera+

    ARPING 192.168.10.1 from 192.168.10.254 eth0

    Unicast reply from 192.168.10.1 [00:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX] 1.657ms

    Sent 120 probes (120 broadcast(s))

    Received 1 response(s)

192.168.10.1: inverse host lookup failed: Unknown host

Figured if I could get redboot on there, with that method, I could continue the Hak5 tutorial around step12 (flashing the firmware).

This one seems utter nonsense to me.

Looks like another way to get SSH working is with the francofon addon.

Some dude called Antonio seems to be getting somewhere, but this post is old :/
