nietzche
Hey guys, so I just discovered these forums and am more than pleasantly surprised at the wealth of info and overall good ppl that post here. So I have one question that I apologize if it's been asked before frequently (for I haven't trolled more than a couple pages of these forums yet). I'm much more familiar with the networking side, and now that I'm moving more towards hacking/pen testing house, I'm feeling severely gimped at my non-existent programming knowledge. So my question would be, is there something you gurus would recommend along the lines of which programming language to learn that not only could "get stuff done", but in learning it, I'd be hoping to also develop a knowledge of the inner workings of what's going on. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated. Edit: Wow, I'm retarded, I'm finding alot more info in the sticky up top. Feel free to disregard or delete this post. I'm gonna shoot for the assumption that C would be a good start.....unless anyone else has better advice....

nietzche
C or Python methinks have fun! :-P Thank you for your input. :) I talked to one other guy who's already in the pen test business, and he mentioned python quite a while ago as well. Just visited the python site and it looks like it has a good tutorial. Think I'll head in that direction... :P
