Older wifi pineapple nano with NO WAY to upgrade as wifipineapple.com is DEAD

Recommended Posts

So wifipineapple.com doesn't exist anymore? I have no way to manually upgrade either. I paid what is a decent amount of money for me and now this thing seems pretty worthless. Now way to download modules? So, is this a way to try and force me to upgrade to a newer version and fork out even MORE money? I have always considered Hak5 an excellent source for hacker gear but this is infuriating to say the least. The device is NOT that old!

What kind of help can I get here?

Should I expect some real support for this device or am I just SOL now?

It does.

wifipineapple.com isn't dead in any way as the thread title suggests. The base URL redirects you to the Pineapple shop page.

wiki.wifipineapple.com shows you the old docs, but it's not relevant since there is a new "home" for the Nano (and Tetra) docs (as the old wiki itself says; "The WiFi Pineapple Wiki has been deprecated")

You can.

Upgrading the firmware is documented here
https://docs.hak5.org/wifi-pineapple-6th-gen-nano-tetra/getting-started/upgrading-the-firmware
Although the link for manual upgrade is broken on that page, but the info can be found here
https://docs.hak5.org/wifi-pineapple-6th-gen-nano-tetra/faq-troubleshooting/manual-firmware-installation
Firmware can be downloaded manually from
https://downloads.hak5.org/pineapple/nano

There is.

Just got my Nano out of my Hak5 storage box and it loads/lists installed/not installed modules as well as installs them if I do so. This isn't a Nano issue. You probably have some issues with connecting the Nano to the internet, and/or have some obstacles on the way from your Nano to where modules are populated/downloaded from.

It is.

The Nano was introduced way over 8 years ago, and went EOL more or less 3 years ago when the Mark VII was introduced. So, it's not an officially supported product since a long time back.

It depends on how "real support" is defined. But from a Hak5 perspective, as said, the device/product is EOL since years and replaced by a new generation of Pineapples.

Community based troubleshooting if someone has the time and feels like trying to help you with the issues you are facing (like other community based forums, Hak5 related or not).
