Product difference

I decided to order an "omg" product this week, can someone clear a few things up for me?

First, aside from appearance and use of the cord, is the only difference between the cable and plug the ability to key log?

Second, if I order a type C can I use a C-A adapter on the hot end?

My thought, use the type c to hit mobile devices and toss on an adapter on it when I run into a box that only has type A ports.

Would the adapter hinder the ability to function?

In terms of features they should be identical with the limitations being what you can plug them into (like a keyboard). Adapters are not officially supported, but they work unofficially.
