Strange Issue | OMG cable charge only one directional

I have bought OMG cable Elite C to C and I just get it. It was fine for a couple of hours then the dataline and charing were not active on my phone when I put the active end to the phone.
I reflash the cable several times with no hope. I thought about reversing the cable about the passive end to the phone; strangely, it started charging, and Dataline also worked.
What does that mean? is it a software issue or did my cable get broken?

That sounds like what is described on the product page for Directional C to C cable. 
But if you think you have something broken, you should use support instead of the forums.
