WPA Handshakes files issues with Pineapple Mark VII

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I'm quite new with the wifi pineapple, still learning.

I tried to capture Handshakes on two of my wifi access points.

For one of the endpoint, I got a full pcap and hashcat 22000 handshake, for the other one, I only got a full pcap handshake.
All handshake has all 4 messages green on the pinaple dashboard.

Based on those results I have a few questions:

  • Why is the pinapple capturing the handshakes sometimes in the 2 formats (pcap, hashcat 22000) and sometimes not?
  • Is it a way to make sure that the pinepple will capture the hashcat format?

Also, when trying to use my pcap file, with this and this, both solutions tells me that my pcap file do not contains any handshakes.

  • Are my pcap files wrong? even if the pineapple told me that the hanshake is full?
  • How can I prevent this, and make sure that the handshake is good?

Thank you for your help,
