Well, VGA uses a analogue signal (actually several analogue signals at once), so technically if you use HDMI you will get a better picture (whether it's noticeable or not is some thing else). Additionally, DVI will give you the exact same picture as HDMI. The only advantage of HDMI over DVI is that HDMI carries both audio and video.
