Reckless Pancake Posted February 16, 2018 Posted February 16, 2018 I recently joined a coding group and our first task is to create a project for ourselves and to code said project over the span of 2 months or so. I can't really think of any cool projects that I'm interested in. The group wants this project to be something that would sharpen our skills for further use. I'm interested in the cyber security/ pen testing field and I can't think of any long term projects for me to work on. The deadline is coming up soon so any help is greatly appreciated, Thanks! Quote
Broti Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 What about a Port Scanner? It's fairly easy to code. Quote

That's an amazing first step and thank you for responding, but I was looking at something a bit more long term. If its easy to code that's a great but that might be too easy. I mainly work with python, so could something like a buffer overflow attack work? Or could a port scanner and then a auto exploit tool be a good idea? Quote
