geocine Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 Is there a way i can change a portable app into a u3p format so that it will be installed in the launcher. Or is there way to add this app to the launcher. I have a copy of a Nod32 Portable anti-virus.. is there a way i can add this to the launcher? Quote

geocine Posted December 20, 2006 Author Posted December 20, 2006 yeah of course i have the u3 launcher.. but what if it's not in ".u3p format".. its a folder with portable apps, how can i place ( a sort of shortcut to the program) it to the launcher.. just like placing a shortcut of the app to the launcher??? Quote
FireTime Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 use the u3 shortcut creator. It will create a shortcut in your u3 program window. http://usb.smithtech.us/u3/shortcut_creator.htm but all this does is create a shortcut. You still need the original application on the device. BTW: don't link to .bat files because they wont run and cant be uninstalled in U3, you half to remove it by hand. Quote
Guest TehHacks Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 or you can do it manually: guide: http://www.elitenews.org/2006/05/installin...mart-drive.html Quote
twsSentinel Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 Hey there ... What you're looking for is either of two programs. PackageFactory OR U3 Package Prototyper Both can convert a software into a U3 Program. However, that being said, it's only meant for certain software. An anti-virus might be too complex to do a simple convert, but it's worth giving a shot. If you need help getting the software let me know I'll post a link. Quote
