So I just bought a MK4 second hand, got it today but having trouble setting up.

Using windows 7

If I turn it on I can connect to it via wifi and access the control panel for it. (Using 172.16.42.1:1471)

If I try to connect to it via ethernet cable it won't find it. (Thats with the wireless network adapter connected to internet, and the pineapple plugged in via ethernet)

Have set the wireless connection to be shared.

have set the ip address for wired connection to 172.16.42.42.

Have been following the setup guide in the little booklet that came with it.

Am I missing something?

If you bought it second hand, it may not be in working condition.

Do you see a WiFi network being broadcast by the WiFi Pineapple MKIV? If so, please try to connect to that and factory reset the pineapple.

If you cannot connect to or don't see a WiFi network being broadcast, you'll likely need to restore the WiFI Pineapple MKIV using the instructions here at the bottom. Note though that this requires you having a 3.3V UART serial cable.

Best Regards,

Sebkinne
