tulgeywood Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Hoping someone can help me here. I just received my USB Rubber Ducky in the mail and I'm stuck as the Keyboard Setup Assistant wants me to identify the keyboard before it will allow me to continue if I plug the ducky in. The only way I can think of getting around this is to put a delay in to allow me to click "Continue" and then program the corresponding keys in my script to get through the assistant before executing any other commands. This is not ideal though. Does anyone know of a way around this issue? I am running OS X 10.8.3 by the way. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Quote
no42 Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 You need to update the firmware http://ducky-decode.googlecode.com to the latest duck.hex (v2.1) then look at the "changing the Ducky's VID PID" guide hosted in the wiki (same website). There's also a handy draft Ducky guide in the downloads section. Quote

waterpistol Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Bumping this because I updated the firmware and it still pops up when I put it in a new Mac (they've all been running 10.9 for what it's worth). It's unclear to me what to do regarding the VID/PID. Quote

waterpistol Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 (edited) Woohoo I got it - thanks midnitesnake! @tulgeywood - Download Hex Fiend (http://ridiculousfish.com/hexfiend/ - or any other hex editor) and create a new file and type 05AC0221 and save that in the root directory of your microSD card as vidpid.bin (which will tell the paylodee computer that your Rubber Ducky is an Apple USB keyboard). This will only work if you've updated the Ducky's firmware. More info about that can be found here: https://code.google.com/p/ducky-decode/wiki/Flashing_Guide and here: https://forums.hak5.org/index.php?/topic/32150-os-x-problem/ Edited April 6, 2014 by waterpistol Quote
