wireme
hello all, noob here with a openwrt alpha based wifi device. it is not a fon, but does have openwrt installed. i have been reading on how to flash this for jasager, and the question i have is, can i use the built in firmware flash module built into the openwrt web interface to install the jasager firmware? kind of paranoid of bricking this thing right off the bat. the other sceario that has been running through the mind, in order to utilize the madwifi and the other programs, is jasager a requirement? that is, can these programs run as intended without jasager and just on the openwrt firmware? sorry for these noob questions, but they will help immensely with creating a base in me head. OpenWrt Firmware Attitude Adjustment (r28772) thanks in advance!
Mr-Protocol
I am having trouble understanding what you would like to do. 1) install jasager on any old alfa AP? 2) install openwrt web interface alongside jasager? 3) ??
wireme
it a alpha wireless device with openwrt already on it.
PineDominator
it a alpha wireless device with openwrt already on it. It all depends on what chipset it has and how much flash/ram, At least Atheros and 8/32 but that still does not mean it is compatible. why can't you tell us the model? wireme
the device is generic and has no model printed on it. here's the web interface listing: Router Model Atheros ALFA Firmware Version OpenWrt Firmware Attitude Adjustment (r28772) /LuCI Trunk (trunk+svn7885) Kernel Version 2.6.39.

WatskeBart
How about a pic? I think i have the same device as the wireme, so i have the same question. I can confirm that i have the Mark IV device, my device is identical like the one in Darren K's post here: WiFi Pineapple Mark IV, First Mod by Darren Kitchen, on Flickr So will it be easy as logging in my existing OpenWRT firmware (OpenWrt Firmware Attitude Adjustment (r28772) /LuCI Trunk (trunk+svn7885)) and upload the upgrade.bin from the Mark IV firmware thread with the webinterface or do need to do a clean serial flash? Thanks in advance, //WB
WatskeBart
Nevermind, i figured it out. While the Mark IV firmware is based on OpenWRT, i gathered my guts and flashed my Mark IV hardware based device with the OpenWRT webinterface and SUCCESS! :D So wireme YES you can flash a OpenWRT device with the webinterface, but make sure you have Mark IV hardware as shown in the image from my previous post.
