Snickers
hi! Ethereal works quite well with my integrated wlan card. With Cain & Abel it's possible to sniff the network, but if I activate APR, no other computer can connect to the internet. The whole traffic gets blocked. How to solve this problem? Sparda
Did you selecte the correct devices to position your self between? You may have told the switch that are another computer and the other computer is the router.
Snickers
I selected my WLAN-card and I did the same like Harrison in episode 3 Is it a problem that I use a WLAN-Router?
Sparda
What is the actual erro you get when you try to connect to a WAN IP? Time out?
Snickers
yes an other problem is that cain shows 2 ip adresses, who belong to the router 192.168.178.1 and 192.168.178.
Sparda
It's probable that your wireless card isn't supported properly by winPcap. The IP address you should selecte in the left box is the routers IP adress (default gateway) and the IP on the right should be the targets IP address. Snickers
but ethereal also uses winpcap. and this prog works

Snickers
yes, but nothing happend. Why does cain mean that the router has got 2 ip addresses?
hakgipc
that means the router has to computers conected to it
Sparda
No it does't, it means it has two IP addresses... dose your router support multipule PVCs? If so that might be why it has two IP addresses... so it can act as two gateways and so computers on the LAN can share two Internet IP addresses. Snickers
The Problem isn't the WLAN card, it's the router. I installed cain on an other computer in the network and used a LAN-connection. There was the same problem with APR
