TylerCPU
Hey guys, My Question is how to share the Wireless Internet from my Wifi on my laptop to the ethernet port that is conected to my wifi pineapple. I looked everyware how to do this on,google,bing,youtube,blogs,etc... nothing. My Wifi connection is encrypted with a password and the IP address is 10.0.0.1 and the subnet is 225.225.225.0 on my home connection . The computers I'm running is Windows 7. What setting do I change on my WiFi Pineapple in x-wrt? Everything works fine except internet on it. Here are my 4 short videos I made on my attempts on trying to do this(don't worry there only 2 to 3 mins long). Part 1: "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3cOGu8w0rjA" Part 2: "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUD-bOKxn4E" Part 3: "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=etd2YkKIono" Part 4: "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jL7WAQ4FTC4" I would like step by step instructions. Please Help-Much appreciated.
Mr-Protocol
It's basic ICS (internet connection sharing) Did you try a crossover cable from the Fon to the Laptop? Thats how I hook mine up. You shouldn't have to change anything on the Fon/Jasager/Pineapple to make it get internet. BTW, making clickable links would be nice. But not sure you can do that since it's your first post. That and audio level on the videos are low. Here is a link to my install/setup notes when I made my Pineapple out of the Fon 2100 (Pineapple V1 hardware) https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Gus31kNT-Bn9BFt7rRUdQbEVcaWQb4TBu1JghHKKOZs/edit?hl=en_US&authkey=CJ6w2ZIJ Diagram of my setup: https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/X5ucfqUoE5uqPk4XllsyJA?feat=directlink Another note: Install Chrome or FireFox... nobody uses IE anymore... I don't have one, only a regular run of the mill ethernet cord, and then it will work, soo I just do what I did in part 1 of my video(enabling ICS on my WIFI host computer) and it should work? Also what crossover cable do you recommended, or just buy anyone on amazon. Send me a link. Thanks
Mr-Protocol
Any crossover cable will work. I make my own because i have the cable and connectors. I also use linux for ICS with pineapple so not really to savvy with the Windows setup.
TylerCPU
Well I got my crossover cable and it works kind of, 9 out of 10 tries it works using ICS. Doesn't work reliably, also when it works I desconnect and reconnect to the wifi on my pineapple and the internet disappears. By the way jasager doenent work, no victims connect to it. I reflashed it,followed instructions carefully. Nothing works, I mean I can see the web interface x-wrt and jasager and change setting but nothing works.I'm at the end of the road I think its broke inside. I dont think I want a exchange anymore I want a refund.

zyrax
Sounds like you have given up. I must say that this nifty little device isn't easy to get to work as you want, but when you get there its pretty reliable. I had a bunch of strange errors, packet loss and other problems before I got it to work... I would fist check your ICS using another computer connected to the ethernet tå see that you have a reliable connection. I would also try to use static ip-addresses everywhere... Good to know the exact address at all time. ;) Experiment is the key. ;)
TylerCPU
Well heres my attemtps at tring to get jasager to work, also I tried Auto-Rickrolling but when i connect to my wifi pineapple,it never stops loading in the browser, and a blank page is always staring at you in the browser.Tried turning off antivirus and firewalls, using different computers some that wernt mine. I think that Windows 7 64-bit is too secure and doesen't fall for those old tricks, or its broke. I'm tired and out of options. Maybe ill try exchanging it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nqfygJjqvE Edited July 23, 2011 by TylerCPU
TylerCPU
Hey guys I have finally got the wifi pineapple to work, but still Haven't done the ICS yet. I'm not going to tell how because its took two months to figure it out but all in all it was because of bad documentation on how to's on hak5's website. I looked at the comments and they helped a lot, wow. Why hasn't darren updated the how to, would have saved me a lot of frustrated days. You guys rock,on the forms and comments - helped me a lot. Also IE has a weird problem with somthing with the header of php or something like that so when I did some phishing it would go to peeps no mater what not facebook or twitter to take some passwords, not advocating it just for testing on my own network. My next adventure is ICS 'gulp'.
