Hi Guys/Girls

I need some help, I want to do two things one by pass my cable companies crape router (virgin media UK)+(and if passable there DPI) the other is I what to share my overpriced internet with my local community.

What I thought so far

• Setup DMZ on the cable modem and disable wifi

• Plug in my Linksys ag241 router into cable modem

• Use my Linksys dd-wrt (8mb flash) for the puplic side

• And useing my D-link dir (also dd-wrt –only 4mb version) for my home wifi

And mayby setup a vpn from the cable box to a VPN account

Could you pls give me some setup ides and what would be the most securer setup.

(cable box) – setup VPN for WAN –

for Linksys DD-WRT (public) I have no idea where to begin and what to setup (maybe different network address with some kind of bridge at the Linksys ag241) and the same setup for my home ?

pls help… many thanks

1) Since you are using your ISP network to access internet, I would be very careful not to breach the terms and agreements.

If they find out, that you are trying to bypass their security countermeasures they could very well cancel your subscription.

2) Now If that's what you really want to, you will need to pay for VPN service from another ISP to bypass their DPI system.

Or set up an SSH server somewhere, where you can tunnel your traffic through.

3) Setting up an internet hotspot its not hard at all, I assume you want to isolate your home network from the public network.

In DD-WRT configuration page you will need to enable "AP isolation". Once enabled, All wireless users will only be able to access internet nothing else.

I'd be careful and make sure you disable p2p, so if somone is torrenting that they don't get your account shut off.

A "friend" has a router Mikrotik router setup as a hotspot and shares the internet with his "family" that pay a minimal fee "for equipment expenses only". He is running 2 Engenious EOC-2611 on the outside of his house to the router mentioned above. Each computer is setup with a static address via MAC (that way people can't add 3-4 computers)

If you need any help let me know.
