Fon 2.0g (2202) Working With Openwrt.. How To Flash Digininaj's Firmware?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have a brand new fon 2.0g (2202), the one with two Ethernet ports and the USB.

After lots of googling, I finally ended up with

- installing a dev-image from the official fon site and then

- following the step-by-step instructions on http://linwin-solutions.com/index.php?opti...=1&Itemid=0

to get OpenWRT on the 2202.

Which works nicely.

The only problem is that my OpenWRT's new kernel doesn't want to play with the Jasager packages..

So some more searching, got me to Digininja's advice to just flash his firmware.

But it looks like the redboot is no longer open under my OpenWRT.. (and I have the feeling that this is the perfect point in time to brick the fon)

How do I flash Digininja's firmware from OpenWRT?

(And - is piranha down? (New site??)

Regards

Blaupause

Use whatever tool you used to flash it the first time but replace the firmware images you used with mine. Unless you really know what you are doing you can't turn off redboot, it is like the POST on most PCs, it runs for a few seconds at every boot.

Worked like a charm. Many, many thanks!!

Just realised that it didn't work the first time for me, as the rebooting fon of course comes up as 192.168.1.1 - and not the IP I configured later..
