brain3000
Hey does anyone know of a workaround for autorun on usb media in windows 7? I wrote a batch file to automatically backup my data and preform other tasks when I plug my external hard drive in. It was only after I wrote this that I realised that custom autorun's are disabled in windows 7 for usb media. I was wondering if there’s any registry hacks or workarounds for this. Anyone know? Thanks
digip
Now, I'm not 100% sure that this will work, but try messing with the 4 settings on this tab and see if any of them fix your issue. I know they worked on trying to kill autorun stuff for removable media as a security measure, but it wouldn't surprise me if its just a policy setting. gpedit.msc > computer configuration > administrative templates > windows components > autoplay policies
brain3000
Thanks, I edited the default autorun behavior to automatically execute autoRun commands but still no joy. Nothing different happens when I plug in the drive for some reason.
