Mouse Hacks

Darkmist!

Recommended Posts

i just purchased the world of warcraft mouse from steelseries. i dont play wow anymore but i want to create a mod for it that allows me to change the coloring of the lights or the pattern in which the mouse lights up. i am terrible at programming but I'm going to give it a try.

any ideas and advice is welcome.

going to start researching

this is the link to their website

if i can hack this mouse i think it would be awesome to get it to rotate colors and patterns.. maybe even pulse when i get an email or something

Can you link directly to the drivers and download? You didnt state the exact model and that would help allot! Thanks

here is a link to a picture of the mouse

my appologies. its a flash based site so there is no direct link but its the mouse on the left of this

http://www.steelseries.com/int/download

and heres the download link for the driver files themselves

http://www.steelseries.com/downloads/Drive...WoWMSWv1_03.exe

it has like 15 programmable buttons. its the best mouse ive ever seen or used but i want it to work for other games/apps. the lines on the back can pulse with any color that you specify (ex. photoshop's color picker) under the illumination panel and you can choose how brightly it glows and how fast it pulses if at all

again my coding experience is crap, but I'm using this as a reason to get back into coding

Well without the mouse i cannot test this out myself but what i think you should do is....

In the program folder you will find a config.xml, open it.

Edit the lines:

<LED_COLOR>47871</LED_COLOR>
  <LED_INTENSITY>4</LED_INTENSITY>
  <LED_PULSATION>3</LED_PULSATION>

Changing the application it uses will just require some hex editing.
