  1. Hey last week my mom tried turning on the computer and it just wouldn't, the blue LED lights on the front panel (where the on switch is) just flashes for a split second. I tried putting an old AT power supply in I know it doesn't have a connection for the motherboard but just tried plugging the fan in and the fan worked, so I persumed it was the power supply. I just ordered a new one from eBay, connected it all up and nothing, still doesn't power on. The LED on switch light stays blue and when I push it the LED lights around the front just flashes for a split second.

    Any ideas? Could it be the motherboard or the connections to the on switch?

    Thanks

    edit: Can you check if it's all connected right, I think it is but am out of ideas

  2. Ok thanks guys, it doesn't matter. Basically the only reason I want it is for my

     proxy, as I know alot of people use some common sites like myspace so I can have that in the list, but for those who don't they can just type in what they want. I'll just put some text links next to the URL form.
  3. Unfortunatley the last few months; yes.

    I used to hate people smoking and they could never do it around me I'd always make them put it out as it's a dirty habit, but a few months ago I was getting so stressed from college staying up late in the morning to do work that I started. All my mates at college smoke so they always offer me one which doesn't help :( I seriously need to stop.

  4. Hate to break it to ya this way, but I fear that data is already lost.

    See if you can do anything with The Sleuth Kit.

    Oh rite :( Doesn't matter too much I only had Programs and that on the C: keep all my personal stuff on a seperate partition which seems to be ok.

    I've just got to find a way of mounting that image file with drive image xml which is on an external harddrive.

  5. Please tell me you didn't repartition the drive in the hopes of fixing this?

    lol nope. It was about 3am and I was frustrated and, don't ask, somereason changed it from, I think, extendeded to something (logical i think, or primary) can't remember.

    :?

    So I'm guessing I somehow have to re-format it with NTFS but don't want to lose my data.

    I've got an image of the drive but it's about 1month old.

  6. Tried using mbrfix but Windows just won't load at all just get a black screen.

    I think I've messed up the c: somehow (as I messed around with a load of program) because it says unformatted file system and the fact that it won't boot.

    edit: Screenshot. Partition 2 is where Windows should be.

  7. Help please!

    To cut a long story short. I had Windows XP and Ubuntu on my laptop, downloaded and tried to install the new Ubuntu. It messed up half way through (probley a DVD defect I think) and now I can't boot into anything I got a GRUB 15 error. I tried messing around with Hirens boot CD to fix it nothing seemed to work. Got really pissed and used partion magic (on the Hirens CD) and did a few things and now it's saying my C: drive is unformatted. (still active and primary)

    So how to I reformat my C: with NTFS but without losing all my data and 2 fix the grub??

    Ah thanks!

  8. Cheers Sparda, how would I go about using that with an IP address.

    If that don't work I guess Dr Zaius method should work.

    Thanks

    Like Dr Zaius said, there is no way to redirect a certain IP with .htaccess, but what he suggested would work. And heres a solution in PHP to send certain IP addresses to a page. You can put this at the very top of any of your pages, say your index.php (if your host supports php of course) and if someone has the IP you specified they'll be redirected to the other page, but everyone else will see the normal page.

    <?php

    $address = $HTTP_SERVER_VARS["REMOTE_ADDR"];

    if ($address == "xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx") {

        header("Location: goatse.html");

    }

    ?>

    Thanks that worked!

    Let the evil rampage begin :twisted:
