  1. QUESTION: HELPS NEEDED FROM MASTERS!!! How to SUCCESSFULLY boot into BT3 (USB) KDE GUI on Aspire ONE AOA150? 1st of All, Apology to everyone if i make any grammar mistake coz my english is poor. A great greeting to every members here and to my favourite Hak5 host - DARREN!!! My name is D0n, i am from Malaysia (located right bsides Singapore), i was a late coming fans of Hak5 since season 2 but i managed to download all episodes from season 1 till 3, HAK5 rocks!!!! . Anyway, my purpose of writing this post is to ask a few question with regard to Booting into Backtrack 3 KDE on Aspire ONE AOA150 - I have purchased Acer Aspire ONE (or AA1) AA1 AOA150 Spec: With 160GB HD and 6-cell batteries, most importantly it has built-in Atheros AR5007EG. - I couldn't boot into BT3 KDE GUI. I used the normal way to boot into BT3 USB as below: 1) After switch on the AA1, i choose to boot from USB Drive 2) Then, i select 'BT3 Graphics Mode (KDE)' [*In fact, i even tried Flux & VESA Mode] 3) Then, it showed message 4) Log in as 'root', then type in 'xconf', it shows message 5) After typing 'startx', it show error message as below Module Loader present Makers: (--) probed, (**) from config file, (==) default setting. Is your VideoRAM set too low? (EE) intel(0): Couldn't allocate video memory Fatal server error: AddScreen/ScreenInit failed for driver 0 ISSUES: - I realized that Acer Aspire ONE AOA150 uses 'Intel Graphics Media Accelerator GMA950' which provides resolution of 1024x600, i doubt there's no drivers integrated yet to default BT3 USB.iso. - My model is using BIOS version 0.3301 which DOESN"T allow adjustment of video memory (*Total 1024MB, only FIXED 8MB shared out for video), may be this is the main reason of 'VideoRAM set too low?' error message QUESTIONS: 1) There's one blog info site dedicated to provide misc info of Aspire ONE only (http://macles.blogspot.com/), the author also provides download links for BIOS version v3305 i ain't sure whether this would help me solve the problem?? 2) I have searched through googling, macles blogspot, remote-exploit forum, aspireone user forum still couldn't find any stringent solution for booting into BT3 KDE on Aspire ONE AOA150. - I have planned to do something like creating multiboot PenTest Distro LiveUSB as my personal project which may helps in my work, hopefully it could be done on AOA150 as well. Should i ever be able to complete this, i will document the 'steps by steps' and make it into a How-To tutorial related to 'Creating a Multiboot AOA150 with XP PRO, BT3 Final, HEX, DAVIX & SAMURAI installed on both local partition and SDHC' - Myriad Apologies for putting so much of texts here, sorry for any mistake, error & foolishness statements. Please forgive me should i ever cause any problems here. :) Last but not least....TRUST YOUR TECHNOLUST!!! B)
