  1. Excuse the crap explanation, I'm barely awake... Media player crash with fatal exception, and yes i have tried it in multiple media players (winamp, wmp, another one forgot the name though)

  2. I'm having a really wierd problem, every time I try to open episode 206 windows crashes...I have downloaded the file several times but to the same effect did this happen to anyone else?? I might also mention I am from Australia so I am downloading from the Internode Servers becasue it doesn't count towards my bandwidth.

    and yes I am aware that episode 206 is quite old now, but I would still like to get it...

  3. Ok, I've been looking around and more specifically i was looking for something to kill Mcafee. If anyone could help me with this or at least point me in the right direction it would be very much appreciated.

    EDIT - No need anymore I've looked around and just made a simple batch file to do this for me

  4. Okay thanks =). Just one little question. I got everything in system/cmd/ so what should I change with these lines?

    shellexecute=wscript go2.vbs

    CreateObject("Wscript.Shell").Run """" & "DIRECTORYgo.cmd" & """", 0, False

    Do I still need the go.cmd?

    Yep change them to...

    shellexecute=wscript go2.vbs

    CreateObject("Wscript.Shell").Run """" & "systemcmdgo.cmd" & """", 0, False

    where it said DIRECTORY just had to change it to your directory...

  5. Don't know how to make a .u3p package  :-P, I neither don't know how to make a  .vbs

    I don't know about the U3 package since i dont actually own one but you make a .vbs the same way you would make a batch file, open up notepad write your code (or in this case copy the code from above) and save as *.vbs

  6. Yeah as i said i just found the compiler when looking through old topics, so i wasn't sure how well it would work (but deveant usually has good ideas so i thought id post it) and as for the CMDOW option i prefer the .vbs simply because it works on my target machines just not on my home machines... Which i guess is a good thing it just makes testing hard.

  7. I've found two solutions to this problem, first using CMDOW second using a .vbs each have their own drawbacks so ill show you both ways.

    Using CMDOW: Instead of changing the autorun file make the first line of the .cmd...

    CMDOW @ /HID

    The '@' symbol refers to the current window, which would be your .cmd the major draw back with this is that AV detect CMDOW as a virus and restrict access.

    Using .vbs: This is the option i use because AV don't stop it, Change the autorun to...

    shellexecute=wscript go2.vbs

    And then create a .vbs and save as go2.vbs

    CreateObject("Wscript.Shell").Run """" & "DIRECTORYgo.cmd" & """", 0, False

    I have had a few problems with this, on some computers the.vbs wont run properly but for the most part it works well.

    EDIT - Just searching through the old topics i found this,

    hmm okay, so i still dont see y u want to make it but http://www.abyssmedia.com/quickbfc/ is a link to a .bat compiler, it will make ur .bat/.cmd and make it an .exe though u will need to keep a copy of the original .bat as it is hard to decompile the .exe made.

    I havent taken a look at this but it sounds like what you were originally looking for.

  8. This has already been suggested and as pointed out by Grut in the The New Forums topic there are already three links to the forums index but no link to the Hak5 main site. I think it would be better if the top banner was made into a link to the main site. Although if there is a link back to the main site, can somebody please point it out to me because i cannot find one.

  9. Sorry i should have been more specific...

    im looking for some thing that can be run from the command line, that filters out the username and passwords. I can get a .cap file easily enough but id prefer something that does the clear text passwords...

  10. Quite why I have 11+, who knows.

    there you go +11/-1 are you happy now?

    totally pointless karma system sounds like a good name, my suggestion wasnt so much as to change the system but for people to say 'thats wrong for this reason'.

    on a different topic i have to say, i love the the fact you can access the forum on a smart phone, though posting is a bitch but atleast i get my dose of hak5

  11. I'll start off by saying I'm expecting a lot of flaming for this one...(Doh!)

    I'm looking for something similar to DSniff but easier to install, or an easy way to install DSniff on Win32. I have been looking around but i cannot get the Win32 Port to work.

    Any help is appreciated, flaming not so much...

  12. I think it's actually quite fun to see how people react to posts both positive and negative, but without being able to see what for it is a bit confusing.

    I have to agree, don't get me wrong I don't really care about it but from memory i cant see why i have gotten +0/-2 so it would be nice to know what people are disagreeing with, or if i am wrong CORRECT ME I'd prefer get corrected, that way I actually know more.

  13. Furthermore, what can one do to stop this from happening?  My tech teacher asked how to fix it when he saw that they worked.

    If your school has no need for the local admin account, lower its privileges so they can do nothing and also set the password to generate randomly on boot.

    To stop ARP poisoning you could always set the ARP tables manually.... Several hundred computers, sounds like fun!

  14. Obviously user reputation is there to let you more easily suck up to the admins. The potential brownnoser no longer need to type anything out, all it requires is a simple click. The advantages for the admins is great as well since they don't have to read long posts to see how much they are loved, just one glance at their profile page is enough to validate their fragile egos. Leaving them a lot more time to get drunk and ban random users for fun.

    Why do I get the feeling your going to come back every hour and give me bad rep??

  15. User rep is just for fun, and is pretty indicative of what people think of your posts. No action will be taken due to bad rep on its own.

    I noticed I could sit there all day giving you rep, although only once an hour people could build up a rep real quick this way....

    Hmmm.... lets see who don't I like

  16. I'm thinking that when you get out of a "HOT" shower, your hand is warmer, and posibly creating a larger area of moisture around it, which is throwing off the capacitance detection randomly.

    Thanks dude that actually makes a lot of sense, i guess that means the solution is cold showers...

  17. This happens to me when i an typing and my palm goes over the touch pad.

    Solution= got a mouse,disable touch pad=less stress and swearing

    To me using a mouse on a laptop just starts to ruin the "portable" part, I would do it but i use my laptop on my lap all the time its never on a desk so the touch pad is my friend

    um don't take a shower?...

    for touchpads I alwasy suggest rubbing it down with a little ...  LITTLE ... cleaning alcohol, just to clean off something there but I don't know if this will help you.

    I tried not having a shower but everyone complained, Ill try cleaning the touch pad tonight and ill let you know tomorrow

    Thanks for the suggestions

  18. This is really wierd, My laptop touch pad works fine but if i try to use it after i have a shower the touch pad makes the cursor jump around randomly. I thought it might have been something to do with the residue on my fingers but it doesn't happen when i wash my hands only when i have a shower, and its starting to become a real annoyance... any suggestions what might be causing it??
