    I am using eeepc-xubuntu.. comes preloaded with some drivers and since its xubuntu it uses xfce... which is the only gui you would want on an eee pc (maybe flux?)

    Media Temple or if you need to host a lot of sites... mosso. I am on mosso right now. Ive had some front page digg stuff and since both of these use grid servers it distributes the load and my sites havnt gone down.

    Media temple dosnt do backups.. but you can make your own custom cron job to do that.

    Someone said that kevin rose was leading the IPTV thing.. taking it into a new direction.. I strongly disagree with this one. First off if he didnt someone else would have banded and branded a bunch of shows together and have the same thing. (what if from the shadows was still around and did it! I loved that show...) Secondly I dont like how rev3 has gone about it. It is about making money not about content and they have done a very good job at it. There are so many advertisements in their shows! Ill take the open source route and stick in enough ads to get by and ask for donations so I can get rid of them all together.

    I am just wondering what everyone's opinions are on this... I really dont care that much myself. Hear are my thoughts/statements bout it

    • I am glad that they are making more money at its good to see someone to suceed at something like this
    • Ive never cared for kevin rose or his pudgy blonde friend.
    • There is now a lot of advertising now.
    • Cast member changes, take it as face value.
    • This community will change darasticaly. The syndication has just hit the roof and there will be a flood of new people.
    • Will this site still be around? I always thought rev3 stuff was on the rev3 page...
    • Will this post be deleted?
    • Revision sorta seems robotic like any larger corporation. I hope the show dosnt loose its personality.. but thats up to rev 3.

    I just wanna hear what everyone thinks about this..

    (best outcome is rev3 will get some constructive critisism from the fans and work to make the fans happy.. since thats why hak5 was bought.. becuase of its fan base.)

    Id really like to hear from the creators of the show and see what their thoughts are.. i know it will be all PC and boss minded.. but whatever :D

    tunnel tunnel tunnel !! never use open AP with out a secure tunnel .. less its wide open and in that case host a torrent sever on it ...

    For anything important you just dont accept ssl certifications if they are not authentic. Im fine with some creep reading my aim messages.. even tho thats one out of a million. Considering the risk and considering how fast its is (sarcasm) to tunnel ill stick with people seeing what i search for.

    Im sitting here at caribou and when going to hak5 w/o a proxy i get "This content is not authorized for viewing."

    Thought I'd let ya know so you guys can file a complaint about it... im sure its because it talks about security stuff.. but this site really is about tech more so then that.
