So I've given up on sharing (I have a mac) and have tried to use client mode. I can get client mode to connect to my wifi. I can then ssh in and ping google so I know I can get outside of my network: But still when I try to update my firmware or show my internet IP it fails: Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm trying to get my Pineapple connected to the internet so I can update it/add infusions/etc... I couldn't get connection sharing on my Mac to work, so I started my Kali VM and connected the USB ethernet to that. Everything works fine and within the Linux VM I can access both the internet and the Pineapple. I ssh into the Pineapple and from there I can ping google, which indicates to me that the connection is being shared. But when I click on the button to show the internet IP in the Networking box of the control panel, it shows an error. When I try to check for updates/infusions, it shows an error. Any ideas?
