  1. I know this guy, Gordan Freeman, that might be able to tell you, but I haven't been able to email him.

Keep getting a bounce-back email, something about a system crash about 20 minutes ago.

Still waiting on him to make a third appearance...

  2. Oh, you think this was about criminals? That's so cute...

Absolutely not. Allow me to reference one of my other posts:

I hope it changes too. I've been following this issue since day one and it seems more like a money grab than anything. To me it appears to be a sure way for the FAA to get a few million every three years. I haven't registered and I honestly don't plan on it. Then again I tend to fly in remote locations away from the public. If I were to do it where police could easily find me I would probably break down and register just to avoid the hassle.

  3. ... UFO/UAS.

  4. If you get enough people together chances are some of them will be criminals. Ham radio doesn't have anywhere near the following that multirotors do. Everyone and their mother is buying a quadcopter because it's a fad and I don't think the same can be said about ham radio which draws the attention of people who are specifically interested in it. The issue is that quadcopters already have this stigma about them from people misusing their toys to spy on others or fly irresponsibly. You don't see too much of that in the ham radio community so there is no need to steal someone else's identity/call sign/registration number/etc. I don't think your comparison carries the weight you think.

  5. Back in October I learned how to implement TLS in C# and Python. Now I'm wondering if it's possible to hook into Tor using similar methods so not only is my traffic encrypted but it gets passed through multiple nodes. I've found a document about this on the Tor project's site but it's from 2005 and there is a warning at the top that states it shouldn't be used. Is this possible and does anyone know how this could be done?

  6. I never got any emails other than my initial purchase receipt on the 30th. I didn't even know there was any until I read about it here. I'm not worried about it, just want to let people know they aren't alone or singled out.

I did pay for upgraded shipping, which was refunded. That was my 1st clue. But I've been hanging around the forums since the mark 4.

I didn't get the email either so maybe something is wrong with the system. I also paid for upgraded shipping but did not get a refund...

  7. Whoa DigitalData, just chill.......this is a new release......if you don't even realize Darren and Sara are so awesome for checking the "first shipment". The manufacturer made a mistake....not hak5.

I honestly didn't think DigitalData was out of line. After all he/she did say the following:

WeatherTech. I'm not trying to be a jerk (and I know it's tough to judge tone on the internet) but you don't know if they will be here within the next week or so.

    ...

And Darren, I realize it's out of your control. I'm not faulting you for the delay. I know you guys put your heart in to everything you do. I just want to be kept updated.

It's frustrating to not receive something you've ordered in a timely manner. I ordered my TETRA on Dec 30 or 31 (whichever day they were released). Darren has kept us up to date on the forums and I feel that is enough. You will get your TETRA eventually and, honestly, you probably won't have to wait much longer.

  8. It's really picky about what commands and how you can access files in /www. Still dunno why this script works, but I can't directly access any pages. I can't even find the nodogsplash config file, its just… not there.. heh.

Like I said, this topic has been covered in the actual Evil Portal thread. You can't find the config file because the new version of nodogsplash uses UCI and it exists in /etc/config/ (I think).
