  1. Hello there! I'm new to the forums but not new to the realm of computers. I am interested in purchasing one of the Alfa wireless cards for use with BackTrack Linux I hear quite a lot about the 1 watt AWUS036H model, but I have read it only supports monitor and managed modes. I did a search on chipsets that support modes such as master and whatnot, and came across the Atheros AR9271 in a list of chipsets that do support most of the 8 modes. The Alfa AWUS036NHA runs this chipset. I do understand it as being half the power of the 1 watt model, but, does it support these extra features? I do know that my two laptops which run the Atheros internal wifi chipset 9285 can run run airbase-ng in BT5 r3, so this alpa USB card should run these as well? Also, across my searching, I found a 2 watt model of the Alfa card, the AWUS036NH, but I haven't found much on that chipset or its capabilities. I would like to know if my thoughts on these different models are correct, as for their wireless capabilities, and if anyone has any input from personal experience with any of the three. Thank you for reading.
