I have noticed that it does not work on 95% of the https sites I have tested with it.

there is/was a watchdog process...
any process that consumes too much memory/processor affects performance, a thread that cannot count for something like 5secs, will result in the watchdog process thinking the device is in a DoS, so it resets to recover.
this appeared in the original Fon/Fonera, and possibly other devices?
what you running, how much is that process consuming the processor?
I could be wrong? other hypothesis are welcome?
I can run any module that uses Wlan 1 it works perfectly for 30 minutes and then the pineapple reboots.

Maybe you have some power issue, how are you plugging your pineapple?
I am using the power adapter plugged into mains.

Hello All,
I am working on the next issue of my long list of Pineapple bugs. When I am running anything on the Pineapple other than Karma it seems to reboot in just about 30 minutes. Would anyone know why this is?
Thanks!

Thank you! that worked.

Before you just want to send it back. Troubleshoot a bit more. Do not plug in any USB devices on the first boot. After it is fully booted, plug in your USB devices to be recognized. Then it should have no issues booting with those devices plugged in.
I will try that this weekend. Thank you for taking the time to respond!

Let's suppose you've connected to an open network at the coffee shop.
In that case you should get the victim to connect to you automatically
I have never seen that work at all. Tested it 100 different ways.

Which version of the firmware are you using ? Version 2.7.4 of the firmware do not work with the module, only starting from 2.7.5

I remember on the backtrack forums a while ago that people with alpha cards were experiencing probs with their cards if they used them in usb 3.0 ports. So perhaps plug pineapple in a 2.0 port on your laptop and consider using a 2.0 powered hub not a 3.0 powered one.
My own experience when using bactrack 5 and an alphacard awus036nh was that it acted irractically in a 3.0 port on my laptop and much much better when plugged into a 2.0 port.
I'm not saying this is the cause of course of all these problems ppl are having (see threads regarding karma not auto-connecting). Just something to consider.
Sorry i cant help more.
Thank you for taking the time to help. I am using a USB 2.0 hub the 3.0 has not come in yet. I also plug directly into the pineapple and the same thing happens.

Something is defiantly wrong. Now the WPS button just flashes with a powered an now powered usb hub plugged in. If I plug directly into the usb port the pineapple will boot again. Not however with a usbhub plugged in.

Wlan 1 crashes when I run anything on it still I used a powered hub a friend had I have 2 gigs of swap. I can run airodump-ng for an hour off wlan1 no issues if I run anything that sends auth packets it crashes instantly. For example mk3 will kill the connection / Jammer will / Reaver will / Ocupineapple will. Instantly that is with a powered hub 2 gigs of swap a fresh install plugged into wall ect.. Is my pineapple broken?? I tested the card on my laptop its rock solid no issues.
Ideas?

I was wondering if a fix was planed for Karma? It seems not to work at all in 2.8.0?
Thanks!

Yeah Karma does not work often in 2.8.0 you can update your lib package with opkg.

I am still not 100% sure what this does. I select rick.lst it starts show its broadcasting however I never see it on any scans?

Mine does the same thing. It reboots after about a half minute of running jammer. And I'm running my ALFA card on hub powered by a 12 volt 3 Amp brick, so it is not a power problem. The only thing you can do is selectively deauth only certain macs. Usually one. If you only use jammer to deauth only one mac, it probably won't reboot
I will give that a try this evening,
Thank you,

The reset button resets configurations and passwords. It doesn't re-flash your device for you.
Reboots can have something to do with how modules work - some (reportedly) do not play nice with an external card. Errors in configuration could cause this.
Otherwise, it can be a power issue, a memory issue (add SWAP) and possibly some other issues.
From what you say, it is most likely a power issue - you will need a powered USB hub for best results.
Thank you for taking the time to respond! I will order a powered USB hub thank you.

More issues with Wlan1 it shuts down on every module I select it on. Just turns off and I do a ifconfig and its gone?
-Tp
-
If I go to WiFi Jammer and select Wlan1 then click start the radios light comes on that is attached to usb and if I do an ifconfig from SSH I see that its up. I then start the monitor interface mon0 and light stays on and I can see its up with ifconfig. I start the jammer and it kicks off a few laptops around the room and then reboots the Pineapple!
Any ideas?
Thanks!
