I ripped apart my zipit and added a SMA connector for adding higher db gain antenna. You can checkout my (albeit weak) how-to that has pictures here: http://telot.org/zipitwifi.html
Heres the quick version: remove the screen, remove the keyboard - take out the old wifi antenna, connect new MMCX connector and run it outside the case somehow (I cut out a little chunk of plastic on the back of it) and attach whatever type of SMA connector to the other end.
Enjoy

The best idea would be to re-flash with my latest firmware.
You can find it on wifipineapple.com
Best,

I found it - I did it - It worked great!
Thanks Seb!

If you have changed your password then that is the password you will need to SSH into it.
If you have played with embedded devices before there are a few options.
1) firmware flash
2) interrupt the redboot and fix the password
3) Use a serial cable
Mr. Protocol and/or anyone else who knows about this...could you elaborate on the steps required to reset the Mark3's password using any/all of the above techniques? I got a Mark3 from a friend, who changed the password on it, now I can't access it via SSH and I'd really like to :)

Good morning all. My friend and I both ordered Wifi Pineapple Mark3s recently. While I have found mine to be fun and educational, my friend didn't see the use for it. He sold me his for half price, and so now I have two. Unfortunately, he changed his SSH password and does not recall what it is. I tried to Restore to Factory Defaults, which does not reset the password (so no luck there derp). I did some searching around the forums and saw that Mr. Protocol suggested reflashing the firmware or changing the password via serial console. Can anyone elaborate on how I'd go about resetting the password to default (pineapplesareyummy)? Thank you in advance

No USB port - but you can hack a serial port of sorts to it. The SDcard is a mini SD card (somewhat hard to find these days). There are a number of great distros for it already - I personally use Irongeeks SideTrack (a stripped down version of backtrack). I'm guessing you'll have to go online to buy one in the UK, they used to sell them at Target in the US, but I don't know if they still do or not...
