  1. Hi all

Patched my pineapple from the hakshop using some of the tutorials given but with alterations such as using the base IP Address of 192.168.0.99 as I noticed the AP ARPing out on this subnet. Once this was changed and running rpcapd.exe in the background it started flashing for real. i.e. sending rootfs, 1612 blocks....flashing...loading messages

    However

Now the default page for 172.16.42.1 gives the following

Warning: main(error.html) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /www/redirect.php on line 8

Fatal error: main() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'error.html' (include_path='.:') in /www/redirect.php on line 8

And I am unable to SSH into the pineapple..just get connection refused messages from putty

Should I reflash? Use a lower version? Yet to test other functions as I would like to SSH in to see what is happening

go to http://172.16.42.1/pineapple'>http://172.16.42.1/pineapple for the admin interface...

if you want some files for http://172.16.42.1 you can start looking at http://hak5.org/hack/pineapple-phishing and copy the examples from there to your pineapple

regarding SSH, have you waited for a while before connecting? because SSH becomes avalible pretty late in the boot process.. mine looks like its booted for what feels like ages before SSH works

1.9 works great, so if everything else fails flash the same version again, but sounds likes it boots alright..

  2. Hey all,

I've got a couple of questions I'm hoping you folks with a lot more knowledge than me about flashing these units can help with. This post may seem pretty n00b, but please bear with me, I promise I'm not a retard, just leery of bricking my unit and first time flashing one of these.

I've got an MK3 I got from hakshop, updated to 1.0.2. I haven't done anything else with it, it's working fine.

I'd like to apply this update (thanks sebkinne and all the contributors for all the fine work!!), but of course I don't want to brick the device.

    - Does flashing this code completely wipe out and restore everything to defaults like I got it from hakshop, except the upgrades of course? (fine if it does)

I'm planning on doing this from a W7 box. I downloaded the FreiFunk EasyFlash ap51-flash-gui-1.0-42.exe, and the 1.7 firmware update from this thread.

In the FreiFunk app, there are checkboxes for "create Nvram partition (for DD-WRT)" and "Uncompressed Load (Kernel with loader)"

    - Do I need to check either of those boxes?

    - I assume the .squashfs file is used in the "Rootfs" box, and the .lzma file is used in the "Kernel" box. Correct?

Anything else I need to know before I hit "Go!"?

Sorry for the kinda long post, and thanks any assistance in advance!

    Hi,

Its kinda like formating and re-installing your computer... Everything gets wiped....

Personally i have not gotten the flash to work on the AP51 (MK3) with the fancy flash util... Works fine for my old MK1 though..

Each time i have used it on the MK3 i ended up with a router that would'nt boot...

So i have used the manuel aproach, wich works great...

But my guess is that its suposed to work with the gui tool also... Just not for mé :D

  3. ok try to make this simple is there a better step by step guide out there that you can point me to so that i dont have to keep asking these dumb questions lol ..... this guy + jasager = super noob....;,<,,,,,

If its the basics you need, there is alot of great examples on how to use the different tools on the mk3, if you search for Them on youtube and Google, i know that your setup might differ from thoose vidios, but if you just get an understanding on how the tools work, you should be able to use your new knollege on your mk3 ;)

  4. there is no password on the webinterface for the MK3 MR-Protocol..

my best bet would also be to try .htaccess ... but then again, do you really need it, you only know to go to the /pineapple folder if you know its a router with MK3 webinterface on it... and most people would not know that, or look for it

  5. That was the problem on the original Fon2100, there just isn't enough room to store everything.

exactly, but Seb' has mannaged to get feeded alot of packages into the image, so that the take up alot less space than when i installed the same packages manually...

sadly i have not had time to find out how to compile firmware my self.. would be nice to be able to just make firmware with the packets that you need for a given job, and still have room for log files.. ;)

  6. Now I've been planning to purchase a Pineapple since the mark 2 days... I've watched every video relating to it both on hak 5 and curtain special promo vid's Darren made... And not one of these gave me the impression you needed OPEN networks on the "victim" for this to work?! i assumed it would work on at least WEP...

    Hmm...

then you asumed wrong.. at least as far as auto-connect goes... but these days people almost always have used a hotspot without encryption at some point, they are everywhere..

hotels, airports, MCDonalds, and many more... In Denmark we even have open (and free) wifi in alot of the trains..

  7. I will also assume that internet/3g is already working as that can be a handful.

after a couple of fail attempts because of in-complete guides, i got my iphone connected as eth1,

so i decided to make a quick youtube video with the steps, so that others would not have the same trouble (and so that i can remeber it myself the next time) ;)

    http://www.youtube.com/user/ZeppDK?feature=mhee#p/u/1/YoVCbt5Bim0

im thinking of remaking it in HD, and typing a little faster

  8. So what exactly is this for? http://wifipineapple.com/doku.php?id=guide_for_flashing_compiled_mark_iii_firmware to make a Ap51 into a pineapple? Thanks.

subject of this tread says it all...

"Mk3: Atheros Based Files To Flash (om1p) -- Flash files should work on other atheros based routers." :P

and if you read the tread you will see that you can flash both MK1 MK2 and MK3 with this.. so it will also work for AP51 ;)

i have both FON2100 and a AP51 running with this firmware now..

  9. as listed in the reply that reply was for crash

hehe, was kind of you to point me in that direction, but i was actually giving feedback to seb' so that he would know what problems there where in his image.. im not a GUI guy when it comes to routers... im a CISCO guy :P

Seb>> i have tried the beta, and here is what i found:

    1. still cant connect to the standart SSID (pineapple)

    2. after starting karma there is no problems connecting and getting ip.

    3. When disabling karma the it disables the interface completly, and dont setup the standart SSID again.

personally im going to set karma to always start, so not a problem for me, but migth be for others :)

  10. I found the items to make a spare battery pack for the MK3 / AP51 Enjoy :)

    Tip is +

    Sleeve is -

Power Connector (I think this is the correct one. Correct me if I am wrong. Plug/Mating Plug Diameter 2.5mm ID, 5.5mm OD)

    http://search.digikey.com/us/en/products/760/SC1051-ND/109416

    $3.44

    Battery Holder

    http://search.digikey.com/us/en/products/SBH341AS/SBH341AS-ND/275303

    $2.09

    im using theese 2

    connecter:

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/250871597135

    10x = £2.89

    Battery holder:

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290602619200

    2x = £2.35

both prices are with Delivery included

so you can build 2, and still have 8 spare connectors :D

  11. When you say "done" you mean booted into the firmware?

If so, "opkg install <package name>"

Most packages are installed already though.

How are you connected to the router?

The "OpenWRT" Wifi issue is almost resolved, I am just working out a couple more kinks.

You should still be able to SSH in, that is the first I hear of it not working..

About the wifi light, that may not even turn on, I would have to script that in. Could someone with a working MK3 confirm?

    Best, Seb

im also missing ligth in the wifi led.... but thats a minor bug.. :)
