Hi all. First post and new to Hak5. Watching those video regularly! Excellent stuff.
I've been using BT4RC2 and BT5 with my built in wifi adaptor (intel 500) and everything has been wonderful. However, I thought I'd purchase one of these:

Having seen everyone's comments here and over at BT I thought it was the only unit to buy. That is until I got it here.
It picks up AP's great. The signal is showing far better than the intel 500 and more AP's are listing for that matter. However, the data rate is soooo poor. It's at best 300kb/s but generally around 20-50/kb. Whilst it lists AP's my intel doesn't there is no way that the connection is reliable enough to connect, let alone stream data. Interestingly enough, if I sit next to my AP and take off the antenna, it works a lot better, still no more than 300kb/s though.
My question really is do you think this is a driver issue or do you think it is the unit itself. My intel is out performing it on close and distant AP's.
I would be extremely grateful for any pointers!
