Search the forums. There were some threads about where to start when learning about hacking, etc. They cover social engineering and such basic fundamentals. Also, as anyone will probably tell you, read, read, and then read some more. Not that I have a pie chart on me or anything but I would say 90% of hacking is knowledge and research and the other 10% is execution. Tinkering, trial and error. Search google and wikipedia, read tutorials and watch any videos you can get yoru hands on, but nothing will teach you more than just experimentation and trying things on your own to see what works.
Thank you very much digip!

Cool. Thanks!

I know that it would be easy. I was just wondering if there was some known tactics. I'll just use my imagination.

I preferred Democracy, it was faster for some reason.
Same here...

The best kind of attack on things like that are social engineering attacks.
Try and send a email to him asking him to confirming his email username and password. If you want to go to the effort, get some one to call him (who he doesn't know) claiming to be from his host and do the same.
Are there any websites/ tutorials for this?
Thanks.

Mfpmmmpmp5 pmpmffmmfpmpfmm pfffmfpmfmppffp!
Unfortunately, I have a Mac, so I cannot translate what you wrote. However, it looks like a nice little program.

Sees like it could be fun .....might enable me to lose my noobness No really I can code somewhat and other things but never really done half of the stuff on the list. Still looks like it could be expensive if you don' have some of that kit to start with.
Agreed. This is a great idea! However, I don't have the time or money. Have we figured out how everything is going to be kept track of yet? (score)

Awesome, thank you guys very much. However, I don't know how to compile this? I have been looking in the FAQ and everything. I'm just used to .dmg. There is a "how to compile on Mac OSX," but it's a dead link.
Sorry for my lack of knowledge in this area.

Hey guys,
I was wondering what the best packet sniffer for Mac is? Is there anything like Cain & Abel for Mac? I probably need a GUI program, because I'm not much of a programmer.

Thanks.

Thanks. Sorry, Vako, I've only spent time in the Hack/mod forum, so I've never known any different :-|

I downloaded BackTrack 3 Beta and attempted to burn it with my Mac. I tried to put it on both my PCs (one with Windows and one with Ubuntu). It might be a problem with the burning of the disk, but I don't know. It might also be the Beta version problem? Should I just try BackTrack 2?

Haha....yeah....she's a good sister though. I'm gonna try to get a light for it.
-
Yeah, I gave her that suggestion and she just acted like that would be the death of her! She 's kind of ridiculous in that way. Thank you very much for suggestion anyways!

If anyone else has any ideas, they are still welcome!

Just for kicks....

I guess I'll google a monitor light for that specific model.
Alright, thanks digip!
It's my Sister's computer for goodness sake. I'm sure they would jump for joy when they see the pictures of her My Little Pony collection. lol

Hey guys,
My Sister has a Compaq laptop. It has been working fine for a long time, but just recently the screen went out. The weird thing is that it seems to just be incredibly dim, as if only half of screen went out. So, my question is: What do I need to do? Is it a replaceable light or a permanent problem?
Thanks for your time.

Thanks guys.

I need to use my computer at school, but the sysadmin will not let me unless I have Symantic or the equivalent. Do you guys have any ideas. I would rather not install that crap on my computer if I don't have to.
Thanks

I have a live CD of BackTrack 2 and I was wondering if I could do a full install with the live CD?
I'm sure the answer to my question is somewhere on the remote-exploit website, but I can't find it.
Thanks.
