Well i stand corrected :P Is it possible to do this after already installing? I want Whole Disk encryption but i already have ubuntu 9.10 and 10.04 setup the way i want would i have to reinstall or could i just make a /boot partition and encrypt the rest?
In any OS you can always encrypt the whole disk and since digip has already answered it then..

also size=26.7gb when looking at the compressed file in archive, and 28gb it is titled, also total size of rar is 74.4mb

Yes that is true, but airodump-ng does not give u the ability to search for non broadcasting wireless. As opposed to Kismet.
If you do war-driving frequently you will find kismet very useful.
really? i thought you could also reveal with airodump-ng, or is that only with kismet running, or having been run for that AP?

You think so, I could scan your system for vulnerabilities. And if I find any I could exploit them and that way I could gain access to your system. I mean there are always ways to access a system, no matter how secure your system is, there will always be a flaw.

Me and a few guy's on the hak5 irc had a great idea this morning, it came from the disussion of how to or where to hide a jasager (I.E Inside book's, stuff etc etc).
We were thinking of a segment or so in a show on different ways to hide a jasager and how to or something along those lines.
P.S had no idea where to post this =\
I guess different outfit's for the jasager would be good in diff situation's.

How are you using two wifi cards?
I can only think of using one for airodump-ng with channel hopping and using another one "attacking" an accesspoint.
But is there any possibility to use 2 or more network cards together?
using multiple wifi cards is WAY better nuff said

Boot Ubuntu (or similar) live disk, now you have access to all the files.Physical access = all bets are off.
if this guy is smart, he would have set up a bios password, set his boot setting to boot off hdd first, which means even if you put in a cd, the hdd will boot first and it will require a password, then again if its a desktop, you can remove the cmos battery to reset bios, so this guy could then have encrypted his hdd which means you are still at a loss, so i'd say even with physical access all bets still are not off
Yep, just give us your ip address, then I could brute force your router, and make my way into your home computers.you realise hacking a home pc is actually kind of hard especially considering most users have no ports open to the net, only locally,also who says his router is set to allow remote management, also router access != lan access

edit: also OP, why are you concerned about your lan?
check what ports/if any are open to the internet itself, check your wireless security settings and make sure you have a good <20 if you can remember it alpha-numeric password set on wpa2 and if your router supports it make a radius server which is even more secure(i noticed no one really talks about them much..)

you realise you could just use nmap..or depending on your router, you can login to it with a script and request the dhcp table every * minutes, or as i said just use nmap -sP [subnet ending with a * so it scans whole subnet]
edit: or just look at the arp table..

suggestion since the people you "hacked" are clearly tards allowing remote managment of thier router either be a bastard and use thier isp account info and login to thier isp home page and cancel thier account or make one of them dmz and launch some attacks on him and from thier mitm thier network or something similair

Burning Aces, my post is not about ettercap and I have read the manual pages as well as many other sources on ettercap. I can use it but I receive errors no matter whether I compile it myself or what changes I make to etter.conf. I am a fan of hak5 and have been for some time, but that does not mean that I get all of my information here, I would simply like some active discussion about it. This, however, is not the thread in which I plan to discuss ettercap. I am interrested in solving this arpspoof issue. Thanks for your input, but my issue remains the same.
learn to make your own packets. as i said arp spoof is gay. if you wish ill show you how to craft your own packets

I'm in Australia and some of our ISP's actually throttle our P2P traffic (usually to about 28kbps), so one thing we do is make an encrypted VPN connection. This makes it a lot more difficult to see what sort of stuff we are doing. Don't know if you can do that at a school situation though

I tried removing the quotes from echo "1" > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward and I got the same result. I don't really know what I'm looking for when running wireshark, but to respond newbishly to your suggestion I'll tell you what i noticed. If I start a torrent on the target machine it is interrupted by arpspoof the same way that http traffic is halted, but in wireshark I can still see outgoing requests for webpages coming from the target machine. The reason I am using arpspoof is because I've had so many issues trying to use ettercap so that's out of the question at the moment. I'm anxiously awaiting a hak5 episode about ettercap to hopefully spur some good forum discussion about common issues with ettercap. Anyway, any other suggestions. Thanks for the ones so far.
go to the ettercap site or RTFM!
ettercap is simple, best way is to capture and arp request packet with wireshark and edit it with hexedit and then make a script to send the packet every few seconds
dont be dependent on hak5 to solve all your issues and teach you everything
get out there and learn it yourself

charles yes you can, i've always used the aircrack suite as a whole as it seems to work better for me. as your probably know, it helps if you have 2 wifi cards or more
