  1. i want to try and start this for something to mess around with but i am confused a little on what kind of router to buy, i know its a fon but looking on the website there is a new one idk if that works with the software if maybe someone could point me in a right direction that would be great

    thanks

Correct me if i'm wrong. But I think any device using an atheros chipset and works with openwrt should work... (don't quote me on this....)

  2. hey everyone. i just bought the wifi pineapple II. but i completely have no idea how to use it. i connected it to my pc, but internet connection lost. i didnt do any configuration on my pineapple, i just simply plugged it to my laptop, and i cant use internet anymore. anybody know how to fix it? thanks so much.

and im new in this forum, where can i find the tutorials about how to use this device? thanks again

last question is about wireshark. do i need to change any setting on pineapple in order to use wireshark to monitor my wireless network? how to set up?

great appreciate for any helps and your time.

I second what Mr-Protocol said, but if you look on the product page (http://hakshop.com/collections/frontpage/products/wifi-pineapple) you can see some basic guides from Auto-Rickrolling WiFi Pineapple, Phishing with a WiFi Pineapple, WiFi Pineapple: your first connection, Session Hijacking with a WiFi Pineapple in Windows, and WiFi Pineapple Flashing Guide – Building or Unbricking.

    Have fun!

  3. Topic says pretty much it all!

Ive been trying to get BT5-GNOME-32.iso to boot from my Multipass USB key with no luck, so thought to ask some help :)

I will give virtual cookie to the first person to post correct GRUB2 (or GRUB4DOS) entry...

Tutorial on http://www.infosecramblings.com/backtrack/backtrack-4-usbpersistent-changesnessus/ for Persistent USB says "This how-to will be updated with specifics for Backtrack 5. As it sits, it does not work with Backtrack 5. If you have a 16GB stick, please try this one."

Don't know if this helps or not.

You could install it as a USB live install: http://www.backtrack-linux.org/tutorials/usb-live-install/

    (that's how I have my bt5 installed)

  4. These days water cooling doesn't tend to leak unless you make a mistake. It is a lot more hassle than air cooling though. Unless it is running very hot (i.e. you have a very powerful graphics card or you are over clocking it) then I wouldn't bother with water cooling.

In my opinion air cooling is better than water cooling for most people.

    I second this

  5. Whats your view on Lulz Security and their recent activity?

I don't condone what they've done, maybe if they weren't posting all that sensitive information all over Pastebin and TPB I might see them as more of a white (ish) hat group. But their intentions are mainly malicious. And while we do need people to point out flaws in networks, this is not the way to go.
