Looks then like KonBoot doesn't work on machines connected to a domain, even if you only want to log on as local administrator. Can anyone verify this?
According to Paul, Konboot also works on Domain accounts.I suppose then it only works if you are on the server itself.

but why?

you think they would have wiped the DNS entries...

I can't get KonBoot to work. I tried it (with permission) on 2 separate machines at my school. Both are ASI machines, Windows XP (SP2/3). KonBoot boots but then I get a message that C:\Windows\System32\Config\Software (or was it ...\config\System) is corrupt or missing.

Why:
Price/Performance of i7 920 is incredible.
Personal preference for Gigabyte Motherboards.
I personally don't like the idea of putting in a USB flash drive. It could get dislodged if it gets bumped, or it could slowly bend and ruin the pins if you use the internal -> port connector, and I personally do not like the idea of using the cable and just finding somewhere to screw it in. That's what the 80GB HDD is for. Although most of it will go to waste, it also allows for a change of product later on, such as a switch to a type-2 hypervisor like Server 2008 w/ Hyper-V.
@Darren: Just block 3TeK's avatar through Privoxy. Then you can keep using Chrome ^_^

I dont exactly get the point for a full-blown app. You can use netsh with a couple of VBS scripts and/or batch scripts.
