  1. So i had xp on a machine of mine, and decident to partition the drive. I added two others all of them = out to 50gb. I then proceeded to install windows 7 and ubuntu. After running ubuntu i got a few errors that applications will not run. The disk checks out fine on several deep hardware diags. The error i was getting is grub3 failed to load. I know this is an issue with the master boot record. I tried repairing the mbr with an xp recover disk, and windows 7 recovery disk in their command lines. And a few other nifty tricks up my sleeve. I think its getting confused because there was a smaller 4th partition that got corrupt. Any suggestions. Ive been working on macs over the last few years and not up to speed on xp and windows 7 as a current windows tech would be. Ive heard that partition magic on hirens cd may help. It would be nice to recovery so i dont have to go through all the installs again.

  2. FTA, being legit about it , its a good hobby, looking up sats, and pointing at them and seeing what you can get, you can probably get a cheap fta receiver off ebay now because all the DN hackers are selling after the NAG3 upgrade... you can find some pretty cool stuff coming down from up there

  3. i know this is very vague so flame away if you wish, im an avid mac and linux user, i use to do pc support before moving to a different company, there use to be this website that had great free pc utilities to use and it was skinned like a windows desktop... thats all i can remember and i dont know the address or name, just curious if any of you guys and gals might know...

also if you know of any great sites with pc utilities that work well, esp for data recovery

  4. Study, study, study! And don't stop with your A+! Is this for high school/vocational school, or the full CompTIA certification?

ITs not that hard, relax, just know your stuff and youll be fine, you might want to look into other certs as well

  5. Do not use Gentoo on a netbook; you have to compile everything from source with Gentoo and with a 1.6ghz Atom that's not the most fun thing to do. Anyways, it's mostly about the keyboards on netbooks imo and the HP mini feels the best for me out of those three.

Thanks, if you dont mind ill be asking more in the coming days ... please feel free to reply
