  1. *sigh* ... All we want to do is stop this from happening again. Money aside... cause I couldn't give a rats ass. I'll loose money, and I don't care. I'll just go to work and make more. I just don't want this happening to my friends, family, or more. And if everyone felt the same way (live and learn), then who would stop people like this from going, and going. And then they devolop more skill, and start getting into bank accounts and credit cards, and then they start affecting your services and quality of life.

... but now I'm just going into a rant and I really don't want to. My appologies. I'm just looking for some insight on how to establish some form of connection to obtain an IP to provide to the athorities. And as stated, I know thy'll probably "fluff it off". But if someone has done the leg work, I'm sure they must take things more seriously. This is identity theft in a sence.

I see what you are saying, but you cant save the world... even if you were to catch this guy there would be 2 others right there doing the same thing. It all comes down to end-user security and knowing the dangers present in anything online. your friends and family and everyone for that mater need to educate themselves. That's the only real way to stop people like this.

Don't worry about catching this guy. Just up the security measures.

    Best of luck

  2. umm... is it not well known that if good ole' steve doesn't like it, it get's tossed out like an old gallon of milk?

There are a few good games on Wii, and I am psyched bigtime about madworld. I think there are a few good titles coming up for Wii, but not a ton of them, and nothing like what is on other consoles. I like what is on other consoles, not because of the visual appeal but because of the xtras, the fun, and the spontinuity (is that a word?!) of them. Alot of Wii games go like this: open the box, watch the intro video, play the game, put it back in the box. and thats it.

I think you might have been looking for... "spontaneity"... I think

  3. I was just wondering if there is a way that I can share my blackberry internet connection over my home network?

I found a post on another forum where someone had found a router that would do this, but he said that it was way over priced and and didn't really work all that well anyway.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

  4. I know that they have devices that will reset the cartridges to fool the printer into thinking it's full. My brother has one for an epson printer, but I think they make them for others too. If they have one for your printer, you can just reflash the cartridge when it's empty, and fool the printer.

    Thanks ADM1NX,

That would be much better than having to purchase new ones all the time. Any idea where your brother got his?

  5. For times like these, someone should invent fake blanking toners, that are empty but fool the printer into thinking there are real toners in there. So that the paper can still follow the path.

That's a good idea, only thing that might still be an issue is the missing toner inside. I joined a printer forum (yeah, they have those lol) and found out that some printers will do the same thing if the sensor doesn't detect the toner inside. But I don't know for sure and anything is worth a shot at least once.

  6. I know you don't physically hate me, but it's the idea that you don't think I'm respectful. I'm really trying, but it's so hard when the OP's wild conjecture and baseless opinion are wildly praised. Moreover, you can't seem to respect my opinion either. I the Wii is terribad (Nintendo is seriously mishandling their success), but the OP's arguments aren't all valid and I was trying to bring an alternative perspective. The mere idea of this thread is pure flame...,

You all don't like the Wii, I get it. I'm over it, 'tevs.

The anonymity is not an excuse...,

    Okay, I'm not posting anymore.*

    *for reals!

Ok... this is my last post here directed to you

First I never said I didn't like the Wii all together. I said I agreed with its short comings... and I do. In fact I have a Wii that I tend to fire up at least 3 times a week.

Also Your opinion is respected. That was the hole point of my last post.

It is you that attacked me for "praising" his "baseless" post as you called it. Which means you were not respecting me to give praise where you don't see it fit.

In conclusion... let it go dude... we are all part of the kick @$$ hak5 community... so lets get back to simply helping each other out.

  7. Okay, sure. I obviously didn't put a lot of time and effort tearing him down too. I guess I don't deserve anything. Despite obvious flaming I have no choice but to agree with you. </sarcasm>

You clearly agree with him on the Wii, so you're going to going to have a bias to agree with him and hate on me for it..., and me the opposite onto you two.

Your missing the point... Its not about agreeing... its about respecting

I admit the language was a bit rough, but it was something he was obviously passionate about and he expressed his opinion differently than you would have... and that's ok

PS I dont' hate you for a post... I don't know you... here you are nothing but an IP

  8. Sorry for being rude, but really? It's not thought out nor executed well at all. h3%5kr3w could have dropped the childish act and written more intelligently and I might have been able to take him seriously. As it stands, he sounds like the whiny prepubescent twelve year olds that Halo 2 attracts light moths to a flame.

*sigh* :o I shouldn't have such high expectations of people, it is a forum after all...,

To each his own, but I believe that anybody can criticize someone else when they voice an opinion that may be different or voice it in a manner another sees as "childish".

Speaking of childish... I suppose the "adult" thing to do when you come to a thread you disagree with or categorize as childish ...... is to move to another.

h3%5kr3w clearly put a good amount of time and effort into the post and it is members like that, that help create active and positive online communities.

    Sorry if that's rude

So.... again I say... Mad props to h3%5kr3w

were all friends here anyway (I hope)

  9. You might be able to fool it by tripping whatever sensors inside the printer "feel" the ink cartridge. Look at how the black cartridge is inserted and if there's any photoelectric sensors or contact switches. If you fool it, then you may hit two other problems: the printer senses a problem with the ink cartridges, or the cartridges form part of the paper path and you can't print anything because the paper jams.

I would suggest that you sell this printer on craigslist and buy a monochrome laser if that's what you want. My personal favorite is the Samsung ML-2510.

    I will give the tripping idea a try (that's a good one ;) )

If that doesn't work I will probably just unload this thing on Craiglist or eBay like you suggested, because I'm about to through it into the tub with a toaster just to make sure I get the job done. lol

  10. it might not without the actual cartridge in the slot. you should be able to change the print settings in the printer properties by right clicking on it. every printer is different so youll have to look around the settings and see what options are available to you.

Thanks... I'll give that a look real quick as see what happens.

  11. I have an HP Color LaserJet 2600n. I have a black toner cartridge in it, but none of the colored ones (they are like $70 a piece).

I want to print (just black), but it wont let me without the other toners. There is a pop up that tells me I need to insert the remaining cartridges.

My question is... is there anyway I can get around this and make it print with just the black cartridge?

    Thanks!

  12.

Ok... I left my computer room for about three minuets... I just got back and my mastiff (his name is hank the tank) who is a huge @$$ dog was chewing on my extra freaking RAM.

Hes an awesome dog... but damn it!

Its kind of funny though I guess... Maybe his memory will be better now ;)
