  1. Okay, made three usb keys, each one using BT3_final, BT3final_usb, or BT4beta. They all boot up, I get the command prompt. Login using root/toor xconf then startx (also tried just startx) And I get the following: Markers: (--) probed, (**) from config file, (==) default setting, (++) from command line, (!!) notice, (II) informational, (WW) warning, (EE) error, (NI) not implemented, (??) unknown. But I don't understand why. Hell, if it can run Windows and it's memory hogging self why not BT? Maybe it has to do with the USB sticks I used, or what? No idea.
  2. Trying to crack my home wireless network for testing with this new netbook I got. Acer Aspire One. Has an Atheros AR5007EG wireless card, however I can't find any peek drivers that are compatible with it. From what I read all atheros chipsets are compatible with the peek protocol, but it's not working. I'm currently using Windows XP, as I just unboxed it as of 15 minutes ago.. Does any one know how to continue from here?
  3. Tried. Kind of worked. It responded to a single probe request, and a computer automatically connected. Other computers weren't detecting any APs. In other words: It's kind of intermittent.
  4. Okay, got it reflashed and it is working now. Able to access the webif. Interface and Karma are Up and On. But it isn't responding to any probe requests. I have three laptops on(all windows), each with a proverbial shit-ton of preferred wireless networks, however they're only seeing the real access points. I know I must be missing something.
  5. Also I'm trying: "opkg install kmod-gpio_2.6.21.5-atheros-1_mips.ipk" "opkg install jasager_2.1-1_mips.ipk" And when I install Jasager 2.1 mips it still says that it is missing the kmod-gpio dependency. Even after reboot.
  6. Any idea what's going on? I've flashed with the Jasager firmware v.1.0 from your site, Digininja. Broadcasting wifi now. Transferred all the *.ipk files via WinSCP to /tmp/ What's happening? I'm guessing it doesn't have the proper dependencies to issue the ipkg command, however you said with a Fon+ all you had to do was flash and then stop as it installed all the dependencies?
  7. Successfully flashed with Jasager v.1.0 (http://www.digininja.org/files/jasager_firmware_1.0.tar.bz2) Connecting via SSH to 192.168.1.1 in order to enable wireless as it's not broadcasting(as to be expected) Successfully Connected Login:root, admin password: root, admin Any combination is denied as invalid password. What's the deal?
  8. Just got my Fon+ today. Have similar question, running firmware version 1.1.0 r2 on a Fon+.
  9. I know I saw one of these posts somewhere before, but I can't find it now, sorry if this becomes clutter. Anyway, I was invited by a Fonera to FON.com which gave me a discount to purchasing a fon. However, my funds ran too low for awhile and I didn't get a chance to use the coupon before it was revoked... Anybody have any invites that provide those discounts that they're willing to share? EDIT: Already got one, thanks guys.
  10. I've got Demonoid invites here, as well. Just PM me and I'll give you the info you need.
  11. digip: Might be of interest? Wrong. Very much of interest! EXCELLENT find! I'll definitely be downloading that. Probably your DNS acting up since the site is fine for me right now and I just finished downloading. [EDIT]: Only down side right now, besides using a single PC/Processor, is the fact that only ONE input device can be functioning at a single time. I.E. two mice can't click on two seperate things and move them simulataneously. Hopefully on next update.
  12. @Sparda: Wonderful reply. Thank you. The more I started thinking about it after I posted this topic the more I realized that this is simply a logistical nightmare... Would have an outstanding "awesome factor" as I like to put it, but not sure if the awesome factor would be worth the hassle. Though don't get me wrong... I am still certainly going to give it a shot. :) Thanks again, Sparda.
  13. Remote desktop might work.. Though one of my concerns is processing power with both of us using one computer. I'd like to split the load... I'll look into the remote desktop thing and let you guys know what I come up with.
  14. Multitouch wouldn't be too hard to create, I don't think. Go out and buy a couple of Nintendo Wii controllers and hack it up. Though you have gotten me thinking, USB.... Maybe I need to go about this in the form of a multitouch, without the touch... Guess just a multi? lol I'm not sure, just bouncing ideas at the moment as I really have no idea how to go about this. I appreciate the input, thanks.
  15. @digip: Yeah, that sounds exactly like my experience with Remote Desktop. If that's what it is then the problem is that we can't work simultaneously. Yeah, you can talk to each other via notepad or whatever, but while one of you is typing in Notepad the other one can't be moving windows around, editing a spreadsheet, etc. Only one user has control at a time. Though I could be mistaken (very very possible, cause I'll be the first to admit I'm not the most skilled around these parts. Long time fan/lurker, just never posted cause I never had anything positive to contribute).
  16. Hah, to be perfectly honest that's why I chose the topic title. Hah I wasn't aware PC Anywhere would let the two simultaneous users interact with each other on the same monitor. I'll have to check that out.
  17. Yeah, Vector, you're correct. I've looked into Synergy, and it isn't what I'm looking for. From Synergy's website: Synergy lets you easily share a single mouse and keyboard between multiple computers with different operating systems, each with its own display. Thanks for the input so far, guys. I do know it is kinda pointless other than the goof off factor, but I'd really like to do it anyway.
  18. Something really interesting that I stumbled across a few days ago, thought you guys might enjoy it. *DS2Win Fusion http://www.1emulation.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=25633 Easy to set up, fun to play with. The Readme was easy to follow and worked flawlessly over here. Of course there are bugs within it, and unfortunately I don't think the lag can be helped due to restrictions on the DS wifi capabilities. DS2Win Fusion v0.81c - March 26, 2008 ----------------------------------------- DS2Win Fusion is a program designed to allow you to do ALL the things you could do with your PC, harnessing the wireless capabilities and touch screen for maximum usability. Play movies, games and browse the net, check emails, the sky is the limit! All you need is a windows PC and a wireless router or card. This is an customized build of the Win2DS client and server, both the client and server have been enhanced to provide new features, higher speed and service quality. Note: This release will probably need to be DLDI patched before using (unless you have a R4DS like me and its done automatically) Changelog: ---------- 0.81c server - zoom levels now gradually increase by 0.125 between 1x-2x client - change zoom level without swapping screen by holding L before you hold R and use ABXY client - dual screen zoom mode now available! 0.81b server - fixed access violation when trying to use movie player and no videos could be found client - fixed keyboard presses to work in most directx games/applications again 0.81a "the oracle" server - completely rewrote server in Delphi and it is now perfectly stable, i think! =) server - implemented CRC checking for better detection of duplicate screens server - cursor no longer flickers when capture transparent pixels is enabled server - all options can now be configured without restarting the server server - JPEG quality is now configurable for zoomed and fullscreen views server - JPEGs are no longer saved to disk before sending to DS which should speed up things a lot server - extra quality setting added for mid-range CPUs server - movie player beta (no sound, only works with fairly standard AVI files) server - added option to run on windows startup client - FAT support added (DLDI patching now required) only IP address is saved for now client - disabled screen updates while lid is closed to save battery power http://rapidshare.de/files/38931161/ds2win.ds.zip.html Small video of it in action.
  19. Yeah, but that's not as much fun. He wants to be able to steal my windows.
  20. Okay, I know what most of you will think when looking at the topic title: KVM Switch. But that's not what I'm looking for. My roommate and I work cooperatively on projects all the time, tossing things back and forth between our workstations, etc. I'm also setting up a projector for a display in our work area. What I want to do: *Each of us have our own seperate box (we tend to bog down our individual systems pretty quickly when working alone, I can only imagine both of us working on the same processor/memory) *A single projector based display *Both of our boxes pipe our display to the projector Since we work cooperatively a ton I thought it'd be awesome for us to both be working on a massive screen, if I need something that he found or made I can move my mouse over, and just drag what I need to my side. Any ideas on how to accomplish this? Or better ways to go about it? Or even general input on how stupid/neat of an idea it is?
