Might already been brought up, was quickly reading through the thread.
Just flash the admin password or even easier, just bring a copy of Ophcrack from home or.. just bring Cain and Abel on a flashdrive :)
GLHF.

Not a stupid question. If you have an infection there's a bunch of ways it could spread to other machines including open file shares, exploiting vulnerabilities in network services on those other machines, or I suppose even something like a MITM attack where images in the webpages people requested were replaced with infected images. Three different methods but all very real and possible threats. The end result, however, is a coffee shop full of infected machines (which could quite possibly infect other machines given that the user may visit more either the same or other coffee shops with other users).
Ways of transfering files without the owner knowledge..
One of these ways could be using Metasploit? Or something like if the target has a telnet server.. or MITM ofc, but what do you really mean by a infected images?

Hey guys.
Might be a "stupid question"..
But..
I've heared a lot of network admins and IT security experts say that if someone on your network has a trojan or a virus of some kind, you can potentially be in danger.
Let's say, I'm at Starbucks and hocked up to their network. Let's say I have a trojan of somekind on my machine, how does it infect the other computers without the owners acceptance? More in detail would be awesome :)

Quick question, in the latest Hak5 episode. Darren talked a lot about packet manipulation..
They used Wireshark or Ettercap but all they did in this episode was looking closely on the packages..
So what software or (wireshark filter?!) to use for maybe changing the google logo to something more intresting?
Preferably Windows software :)
Or maybe something in the BT3 suite..

If I want to "hide" inside a network. Can I set the IP as another machine in the network and use the
same "computer name" ? Or what is a good method hiding inside a network. For instance if I want to packet sniff on my neighbours wireless network... Just for the knowledge guys..

I have the EeePC 701 and I think the default card is an Atheros
Yeah, the WIFI card in the 701 is an Atheros. Works great with BT3. :)

Try some undelete software.
A google search will do to find one.

Just need to find a cheap external disc drive to run it off of.
No need for an external disc drive.
A simple pendrive or memory stick will do! :)
I installed Windows XP Pro SP2 on mine and my sister Eeepc using my SD card. Worked flawless. :)
Here's an Nlite guide:
And here's a guide on how to use a SD card or penstick:
And here is USB Multiboot which transfers your files to your memory card or pendrive. It will also make it bootable.

During boot-up. Hold ESC to select a specific boot device :)
Good luck :)

I personally find 4GB enough for what I want to do on my eee, but if you need to trim some fat, run your Windows CD through nLite. It's a customisable Windows slimming app and it'll cut out all the stuff you don't need. Burn the resulting ISO to a CD, install from it, and you'll save a whole pile of space.
That was the problem. He didnt own a WinXP CD.

Knowledge is not a crime. What you do with it may be.
Knowledge is LOVE.

Bah, Mac Adress's are just random letters and numbers for average users.
And with BackTrack you can manipulate is aswell...
-
There's a hole LOT you can do!
Try a program called "XPLITE & 2000LITE Professional (1.6)".
Here you can delete things you do not need, and things that's not essential for the computer.
Disable hibernation and system restore points. (You can do backup in other ways.)
Cut down on the amount the trashcan can carry. Download a program called CCleaner..
Use it to reclaim some space....
I hope that this was what you ment...

Enjoying Max Payne 2 with "EOS-mod".
Probably one of the most superior action experiences out there, even though it's OLD!

So , is impossible to discover the key and use that wireless without knowledge from the owner??
Yes. just configure your computer name to something that does not relate to you. Such as your name or computer model.
Don't know if you can "HIDE" yourself inside the network. I always check the DHCP list for intruders on my WPA-PSK network... So I guess not?

Ardamax for n00bz :)

I dont whant crack i want the key in use in some spot, to share to myself :)
Regards,
Antonio
Could you elaborate? You want to access the "closed" Wireless network without permission or a key?
That means you have to crack the key to access it.. Or some divine intervention or something..
-
Hi ppl,
I need to now if is possible to access a wireless network, for example one program to help-me a find a key??
Its easy?
Thks for a help.
Regards,
Antonio
Are you talking about cracking the key? I suppose that's the only way besides talking to the network admin. Or sneak into the building and grab it from another computer. :)
BackTrack 3 is the OS of choise if you want to crack it.
Download a .iso from remote exploit and burn it to a CD or
make a bootable penstick / memory card.

Wifi-cracking is not legal :)

Allright, thanks for the replies :)

Hey guys.
A quick question.
Can you host your own .com / co.uk domain?
For example I host: www.mydomainowns.com
Then I bind it to my IP / servers IP.
.. Hard to explain..
Can I host my own domain name? And then bind it to a specific server..
-
It will run great.
Runs good on my EEEPC 701 with the OC:ed 900Mhz and the 512 MB Ram.
So the Aspire should handle it just fine. :)

Would take ages to boot up from a SD.
If I had an external CD drive I would try Kalyway on mine :)
What program for packet manipulating?
