Hi there ! my setup AP: AP121U (ALFA) - external Wifi-card: AR9271 (ALFA) If I flash the pinapple firmware on the AP121U, will it recognise the AR9271 and will I be able to use it as an range extender ? I need to bridge both wireless interfaces. Right now, the AP121U is running openwrt(lede) and I cannot figure out how to do it. So I am hoping that maybe the Pinapple firmware makes it easier. Any help very very much apreciated. Thanx !!

help! Using MarkV as a Wifi-Bridge for Ethernet-IPcam?

Okay, I feel dumb here: I have an ethernet-IP-cam and the only source for internet-access is a open Wifi-hotspot since the telephone-company thinks that area is a tiny town and nfortunately the DSL-connection there is total rubbish, not even near 2MBit downstream (~500kbit up is not even enough for sending emails...). As far as I understand it, if I connect the IP-cam over ethernet to the Pineapple V I can connect to the internal wifi-router to get access to the cam's webitnerface. BUT: How can I connect it to the open hotspot AND connect to the webcam? The hotspot-router doesn't allow access to the local IPs of the WLAN. Another prob is, that hotspot has a captive portal with a "click here to accept our terms" button AND the router disconnects the netaccess after 200MB/day per MAC-adress (I guess). Did anyone had to deal with something similar? -
Hi all, I have created a Wi-Fi bridge using these instructions, using an RPi3's internal Wi-Fi (wlan0) and bridging to ethernet (eth0). It works a treat, I can connect to my RPi hotspot and use the internet fine. I can ping all websites fine. However, I cannot use apt-get update or install on the RPi being used as a bridge any more. It states; root@RPi:~# apt-get update Ign:1 http://http.kali.org/kali kali-rolling InRelease Err:2 http://http.kali.org/kali kali-rolling Release Unable to connect to http.kali.org:http: Reading package lists... Done E: The repository 'http://http.kali.org/kali kali-rolling Release' does no longer have a Release file. N: Updating from such a repository can't be done securely, and is therefore disabled by default. N: See apt-secure(8) manpage for repository creation and user configuration details. sources.list contents are; deb http://http.kali.org/kali kali-rolling main non-free contrib deb-src http://http.kali.org/kali kali-rolling main non-free contrib I also cannot ping http.kali.org, it fails. Pinging yahoo, google or facebook from the RPi bridge works fine. How can I continue to use apt-get update and install on this RPi, whilst keeping it as a bridged Wi-Fi hotspot? Thank you.

I am moving into an small house in farm land. 500ft away is where the fiber stops and I am wondering how I could get Wi-Fi to be transmitted to my house. Talked to the neighbors and they are fine if I have a modem in there house. how would I be able to transmit wifi to my house? is there a better way ? budget is no more than 300 or soo . Can it be done ? If so a parts list would help a lot! Can i be able maybe to use a old router or buy a new one not to sure yet. Please help...

Extending an ISP coaxial connection via Wireless possible?

Hello all, I've been trying to do my own research but I've hit a wall. The problem I'm trying to solve is extending an ISP coaxial signal to a house that is set pretty far back from the road without running aerial or burial cable to the residence. I was toying with the idea of using MoCA to a 5GHz wireless bridge setup but I'm thinking that I'll lose the TV single on the other end due to the MoCA device operating on a different frequency range than the TV will expect. Also not able to locate something that'll just extend the coaxial signal over a wireless bridge as a commercial purpose made device. Any one ever toy or tackle this issue before or have thoughts on a solution? -
I was wanting to get into looking at Bluetooth penetration testing, but I couldn't figure out how to bridge the Bluetooth adapter through Virtual Box into the OS; it keeps saying no Bluetooth device found. Anyone know how?

I'm trying to set up my pineapple MK4 (running 2.7.0) to be able to filter certain tcp ports on a bridge interface. I am able to do this same thing on my laptop running 12.04 ubuntu between two interface cards, but I can't seem to get it to work on the MK4. I realize the below steps are not persistant on a reboot as this is only a POC I am trying to achieve. The steps I take on the MK4: - I edit /etc/sysctl.conf and reboot the MK4 (I read this in another forum and have tried it both ways (with '1' or '0' -default) net.bride.bridge-nf-call-iptables=1 - I create a new bridge and add eth1 brctl addbr br0 ifconfig eth1 0.0.0.0 promisc up brctl addif br0 eth1 - I delete the pineapple exsisitng bridge and add eth0 to the new bridge ifconfig br-lan down ifconfig eth0 down brctl delbr br-lan ifconfig eth0 0.0.0.0 promisc up brctl addif br0 eth0 - I bring up the bridge ifconfig br0 192.168.1.1 netmask 255.255.255.0 up At this point traffic goes through the bridge between eth0 and eth1 (which is good) but I want to be able to filter the forwarding traffic via iptables. - so I add this to the iptables flush them iptables -X iptables -F add filter iptables -A FORWARD -p tcp --dport 80 -j DROP but it still continues to forward port 80 (or any port I put in) I have also tried iptables -A FORWARD -j DROP and it still continues to forward everything. If I do this on INPUT or OUTPUT it does work as I expect it to. What am I missing? I understand that bridge is layer 2 while iptables are layer 3 but I have read that "bridge-nf-call" (I have no idea what I am talking about) takes care of this. Do I need to install additional iptables packages maybe? Thanks in advance for any advice you may have. magoo
