  1. Does anybody know how and if it is possible to open the Bios with the Rubberducky. I tried it with a script that just spams F1 and also with a script that presses F1 every half second. None of those worked. If i go into the bios mannually and then plug in the Rubber Ducky the script executes without a Problem.

  3. So, I'm not sure what to make of this. Maybe it's nothing. My friend was setting up a bunch of dells and noticed this http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=5DD13 it looks like just another driver, but HID and BIOS got me wondering. I found this link http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=ob_150812_1 that gives a better description. I couldn't find anything online about what BIOS HID commands there could be. Why would the BIOS need access to HID? If it does have access, what keys does it have, and how do computers interpret them? Could this be exploited? I honestly can't find anything else, but I thought I'd post this in case anyone knows what it actually does and can debunk my curiosity.
  5. I installed Kali on my new laptop. There's an issue when it boots. Everything works fine except when it boots Kali doesn't find a display to use. I think it's an issue where by default the system uses both displays (The regular laptop screen and the HDMI output). In some cases you can fix issues like this in the BIOS by setting the default display device. My BIOS doesn't have that option. So what I think is going on is that since there isn't a display set Kali doesn't know which of the two to use and it just black screens. I think that's the issue. Not totally sure though. It sounds legit though. KEK. If I boot into recover mode I get a shell. Can I fix the issue from here? Is there a boot parameter I can feed it for the display? Is there a config I can edit. Can I edit the config file then live build the thing so it works without hassle? What's the best way to fix something like this?
  6. One thing that frustrates me is when someone has disabled booting from USB via the BIOS menu. Would it be possible to bypass this in a method similar to what Rubber Ducky uses? I'm not entirely sure how to develop such an exploit since I'm still in the process of learning, but I figured you guys would know what I'm talking about. If this idea has been done before, please point me in the right direction. I tried searching around for it on the net but haven't found anything as of yet.
  7. hey guys! Our 3 new laptops at my work (Lenovo T430) have a corporate pre-image on them using the GAG Graphical Boot Loader. Im 99% positive our corporate IT department will give me a 404 Error if I try asking for the password to access the pre-image file VIA the loader (Get the bad joke there? 404 Error Denial B) ) I did some reading and research, it looks like GAG actually can hide the pre-image files from viewing files within the ghosted image. My goal is to find the password file (I'm sure it'll be encrypted hopefully without Faults) and get into there to manage the pre-image myself (Long story short, Corporate managed to give us a corrupt image on all 3 laptops. Good Job guys! not...) Does anyone have any words of wisdom to go about finding said password file? I found some really intreaguing .GHO files that I want to explore, even if I could find the areas I want to keep up with, I may not have sufficient sudo privilages. Thanks for any help and advice in advance!!
  8. G'day all, I have in my possession a shinny new Asus Ultrabook core i5 with a hybrid drive and complete with windows 8. I am a loyal disciple to Apple. And ten minutes on this OS had me convinced that microsoft isn't to concerned about producing a finished product. However, I have also recently experienced Linux Ubuntu. This was a very pleasant surprise. What I'm planning to do is obvious. Trash Win8 and install a Linux distro as a stand alone. This can be done right?(I have to ask that one) However, rather than trying to just kill and slash the Windows platform. Is there a way I can remove it by manipulating bios and uefi? I have been reading up on how I think it could happen. I am new to this hacking thing and look forward to learning a little more. I would like to know more about the intrinsic nature of how a computer works, any help or reading material would be appreciated. Also, can I install a distro straight onto the drive or should I have something like Grub2 or Lilo on there. Is it possible or worth the effort to dual boot with two distros of Linux? Thanks.
