stingwray
ok i was using stumble in firefox today and i came apon this sitehttp://packetstorm.linuxsecurity.com its a cool site but the best part is the banner of the world at the top each blue dot is where someone is who is on the site... i just thought that was wicked cool any one know how they do it /?? Each blue dot on that map is a mirror for the website. So you can pick the one clostest to you and get the best connection. Also it means if one goes down then you will hopefully be able to access another.
tenty
ok i was using stumble in firefox today and i came apon this sitehttp://packetstorm.linuxsecurity.com its a cool site but the best part is the banner of the world at the top each blue dot is where someone is who is on the site... i just thought that was wicked cool any one know how they do it /?? If you view the source of the page, it seems as though they have created each dot, and assigned a css class to it.... The css page on http://packetstorm.linuxsecurity.com/images/p.css shows this: /* Asia */ .aspk1 { top: 75px; left: 225px; } .aspk2 { top: 71px; left: 228px; } /* Europe */ .eunl1 { top: 45px; left: 170px; } .eunl2 { top: 45px; left: 165px; } .eunl3 { top: 49px; left: 168px; } .eugr1 { top: 50px; left: 173px; } .eufr1 { top: 53px; left: 159px; } .eufr2 { top: 55px; left: 163px; } .euuk1 { top: 47px; left: 157px; } .euuk2 { top: 43px; left: 154px; } /* North America */ .nany1 { top: 62px; left: 88px; } .natx1 { top: 70px; left: 63px; } .natx2 { top: 66px; left: 60px; } .natx3 { top: 66px; left: 66px; } .trp { top: 64px; left: 66px; } .nach1 { top: 58px; left: 74px; } /* South America */ .sacl1 { top: 114px; left: 92px; } .saar1 { top: 120px; left: 100px; } Which is basically the exact pixel positions, absolute to the page, the dots should exist. Hope this helps ya out!
