the pineapple is not broadcasting a SSID

Recommended Posts

I am trying to connect my Pineapple mark 7 to the network address Pinapple_XXXX and then log into 172.16.42.1471 web UI. The problem is that the device is not broadcasting an SSID so I can't log into the web UI. So, can you please help me trouble shoot the Pineapple device? I have checked the cable it is attached to the right ports and there is power going to the device thus, I have checked LED light and it is indeed blue indicating that it is in a ready state, and I have had a little trouble uploading the firmware to it as well if it even needs it, for this, I have read the documents online, and have made myself formular with the set-up process, but have not been successful. So, please assist me in setting up the firmware update and getting the pineapple to display a network SSID so I can log on and it as a side not I have had it working at certain times, but haven't had the chance to log the specific actions taken so I can't eliminate based on that. Thanks!

Not sure what you mean by saying that. Reading it, one might think that you are trying to connect the Pineapple to itself.

That's not a correct IP address. It should be 172.16.42.1 and the port is 1471

What cable are you referring to? The USB-C cable that came with the Pineapple or something else? If you have the Pineapple connected using a USB cable to a computer and the Pineapple USB-C port, you should not need to connect to any AP of the Pineapple to do things (unless you are using a Mac with a more recent OS version).
