Email Providers

With Verizon taking in Yahoo email and Aol email under the Oath brand, is there any other recommended email provider around? Looking for fairly simple recommendations for non-tech family and friends. I have looked into Proton, Posteo,  Mailbox.org, Fastmail, and a few other security conscious ones, however I am not sure if I can really convince family and friends to go that direction.
